Great plot and story, boring narrator

I really enjoyed the book, but it turned ok much longer to finish because of the tone-less nature ration. I often had to go back because I had zoned out to the narrator’s voice. It was still well worth the price!

Easily Top 5 Fantasy Novel!! Horrible Narration!

Terrible narrator! Everything was bad about the narrator. All the names were mis-pronounced (to me anyway). As a native English speaker (American), bilingual, and having way too much education, I was pulled out of the story by the narrators unexpected pronunciations of most of the proper nouns. Almost all the names were pronounced with the phonetic emphasis/stress on the wrong syllables. Furthermore, her tone of voice often didn’t match the story. The author would describe the speaker as “angry” or “bellowed” but the narrator spoke with a soft tone of voice. One more to top off the horribleness of the narration: all the elves sound like the aliens from GalaxyQuest!
If you can ignore all that, the story is hands down one of best novels I’ve ever had the pleasure to read!
Highly recommend! But please get a new narrator!!

Favorite in the series so far!

While I have enjoyed all the Tier 1 series, Sons if Valor was easily my favorite! Much better characterization of both the good guys and the bad guys! The plot was intriguing, and believable (at least to some one who has never seen the inner workings of special operations). I highly recommend Sons of Valir!

Excellent stories of wonderful characters!

This series inspired me to write my first review. I loved the 2 main characters! They were so well developed even though the characters were alone for much of the books. I loved hearing their thoughts, doubts, loves, fears, and hopes that kept them going!
I cannot recommend this series highly enough!

My only nitpick with the book is the narrators pronunciation of Anna Reilly's name. In what part of the English speaking world is the name Reilly pronounced "Ree-elly"?!?! It's pronounced "Ri-lee"
