This was my second taste of Charles Martin, after "The Mountain Between us" and it's official --Martin has entered my list of favorite authors. This book was better than The Mountain by just a tad. You won't go wrong obtaining. and reading it!

I found this author's comments very enlightening, sobering, and timely. I agree that many false heresies are prevailing in our churches today and threatening the very elect. we need to wake up not to society's ideas but to the wiles if Satan!

did not know what to expect

when I read the synopsis of this story before putting it in my library I didn't think that it would be as good as this. it had a very sad premise after all. the way that the girls dealt with their grief, however, was excellent in showing how confusing it can be to have a loss as great as their mother and they had. this story told how real life can be at times and how important the way we react to it can be not only to ourselves but to everyone we love too. many lessons could be learned pondering what turned out to be a most wonderful tale.

This is another great story b one if my favorite authors. Mr. Morris is a master at bringing history to life in his novels, making one feel the drama, fear, and every other emotion you can think of pouring out of the pages, pulling you into the middle of the action. I grab everything he has written and dive in with anticipation eager to travel back in time to become an eager member of the past narrator was great!

Absolutely loved the book. I really felt for the two main characters who had to grow up way too soon. Did not like the performance as the reader seemed to emphasize inappropriately and did not separate voices of narrator from characters. she had the accent needed for the characters however. Her reading was very choppy.
