Great story. The production or editing needs help
Revisado: 01-02-24
Not sure how this was recorded. It seems like it was done in sections and then put together. The sound was not consistent. Way too loud in parts and way too low. Then as a chapter was ending, the next chapter started resulting in a mashup overlapping discussion.

Historia
Georgie, back home at her estate in Eynsleigh, impatiently awaits the birth of her baby. But she has plenty to occupy her: Her new chef, Pierre, has arrived from Paris, and Sir Hubert, who owns Eynsleigh, is back from his latest expedition. It's time for Georgie to throw her first house party to celebrate his return and show off her new chef. The dinner party is a smashing success. Sir Mortimer Mordred—famous author of creepy Gothic horror novels—is one of the guests. He recently purchased a nearby Elizabethan manor nearby because it has a famous poison garden.

Historia
Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. Those who cannot do either are of no use to society. This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known.

Half way
Revisado: 07-23-23
Lasted half way in the audible version. Could not handle the stupid main characters' high pitched voice and constant questions. I mean, the mother did not prepare the daughter for anything. And the risks taken were of someone who was mentally slow or clueness. Story concept makes sense but the actions of the idiot main character were more than I could handle. Pass.

The story was the same as all career women...at the service to a male who can, on a whim make or break your future. I consider the Anna W story "pure luck." Now, if AW makes chairperson-level, then that is true career power. Report to no one, have no boss above you = true freedom.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.
