Super Heroes and Zombies, what's not to like!

Why didn't I think of writing a book that combines super heroes and zombies? This book and its sequel have become my secret guilty pleasure. The story flows well and the performances are excellent. Very entertaining.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

A disapointment from a good author

This book was a real disapointment for me given how much I enjoyed Ex-Heroes. The concept was good but I felt it dragged early and then got silly (even allowing for the fact that the "silly bar" is quite high in this genre). Part of my problem with this book is that I actually found most of the characters likeable and engaging, so was therefore upset when the plot was so uninspiring.

Fast paced and easy to like

I have become a bit of a fan of Jonathon Maberry since I picked up Patient Zero in a book store a couple of years ago. This continuation of Joe Ledger's adventures didn't dissapoint, This is not great literature but it never intends to be, it is a "boys own adventure" that is well researched and flows nicely. I especially enjoyed the performance, the narrator has the right tone and 'tude for the main character.

This book answers a lot of the questions a non-athlete would ask about why someone would dope. It comes across as being an honest account by someone who readily admits their own failings as a person. A very interesting insight into the world of professional bike racing and doping generally.

A quality writer and a great plot!

I was a huge fan of The Passage so was awaiting the release of the next installment with great enthusiasm. The Twelve did not dissapoint, it delivered with regards to both plot and character development. The writing was magnificent and the performance was excellent, which only enhanced the story and made this one of the most pleasurable experiences I have had with an audio book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
My daughters (5 and 7) loved this story and have listened to it several times already. The quality of the performance is such that it is even bareable for adults to cope with multiple listens.
