Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Lyssa Peate has found a tenuous balance between her double lives - that of the planet-discovering scientist and the other: the space pirate bounty hunter Razia. No longer on probation, Razia still struggles to be thought of as more than a chocolate-fetching joke. But when the tough and feisty Lizbeth Carter interferes with a bounty, Razia's worried her act is being stolen.

Historia
Since she was a little girl, everyone - from her father to the Great Creator himself - told Lyssa Peate the same thing: she's worthless. But when she becomes the pirate bounty hunter Razia, she can see the price tag on her own head. Employed by one of the four pirate syndicates, she uses bank transactions and her considerable wits to capture rival members. At least, she would be if Razia's boss ever gave her a chance. It's a man's world, and all she's allowed to hunt are purse snatchers while she languishes on probation.

Fun story, and great sci-fi diversity
Revisado: 07-26-22
With this story you get to delve into two worlds at once! The science exploration world of Dr. Peate and the pirate world or Riza (with a bit of a Cowboy Bebop feel).

Historia
You have magic. One sentence, three words, four syllables. Enough to change my life forever. And I'm not talking about the whole spells and sorcery thing. Lexie Carrigan thought the weirdest thing about her was she preferred watching documentaries and reading the newspaper to reality TV and Twitter. But on the eve of her 15th birthday, her aunt and sisters drop a bomb - she's magical. Now the girl who never made waves is blowing up her nightstand and trying to keep from wreaking havoc on her school.

Great YA Urban fantasy!
Revisado: 07-26-22
This is a nicely contained Young Adult fantasy story. It does a great job of walking the line between introducing a new magical world, and staying grounded with the main character’s personal struggles with it. I enjoy that it mostly sticks to the point and avoids the YA pit trap of forcing in too much other teen drama.
