Disappointed
Revisado: 07-13-24
I couldn’t put the 2 previous books down but this one felt like it was written in a rush to make a series. I’m sorry. It’s not worth it.

Repetitive gore
Revisado: 06-17-24
The storyline is good but about ¾ of the way through it just feels to repetitive.

Love, lies and life
Revisado: 02-18-23
This beautiful story sweeps you away into the intricate life of a movie star, and all the precisely planned decisions she made to get her to become the star she was. The good the bad and the ugly. I enjoyed hearing how her mind work.

Historia
What do you do when, just before Thanksgiving at your mother's, your 14-year-old son asks you to iron the dress he recently purchased and plans to wear? Listeners learn the answer and much more in this wonderfully frank, loving, and practical account of parenting a transgender teen. Hassouri chronicles what amounts to a dual transition: as her child transitions from male to female, she navigates through anger, denial, and grief to eventual acceptance. Despite her experience advising other parents in her work as a pediatrician, she was blindsided by her child's gender identity.

Exactly what I need to hear- someone else’s experience
Revisado: 01-30-22
Very well written, you get to hear the inner workings of a loving mom’s thoughts as she grapples with the news of having a trans child, followed by all the back and forth thoughts a parent goes through.
I resonated with many of the same thoughts and felt comforted to know I wasn’t alone.
