Historia
Scipio Africanus (236-183 BC) was one of the most exciting and dynamic leaders in history. As commander, he never lost a battle. Yet it is his adversary, Hannibal, who has lived on in public memory. As B. H. Liddell Hart writes, "Scipio's battles are richer in stratagems and ruses - many still feasible today - than those of any other commander in history." Any military enthusiast or historian will find this to be an absorbing, gripping portrait.

An argument for the greatest Military Captain in history.
Revisado: 11-22-22
B.H. Liddell Hart was a veteran of WWI and became a thought leader in military studies.
In this book Hart lays out his argument that Scipio Africanus stands above all others in military history as a great commander. I found his argument compelling and would recommend to anyone interested in military and Roman history.

Good study on leadership and decision-making.

The Mission, The Men, and Me ranks as one of my favorite books for professional military education. Lt.Col Blaber introduces a new lesson into each one of his stories and reinforces each lesson in the following chapters.

Historia
It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back.

Adam shares his story.

Would you consider the audio edition of In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks... to be better than the print version?
When you read a book the story is filtered through your own voice. When a narrator reads an author's book, the story is presented in his voice. Adam read his own book. You rarely have this kind of opportunity.
What was one of the most memorable moments of In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks...?
His review of The View. I can't spoil it, you need to listen to the audio.
What does Adam Carolla bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The audio book does not cover all the material in the book but Adam is such a slow reader that he adds extra material not included in the book.

Historia
They met in person only four times, yet these two men determined the outcome of the Civil War and cast competing styles for the reunited nation. Each the subject of innumerable biographies, Generals Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee have never before been paired as they are here. Exploring their personalities, their character, and their ethical, moral, political, and military worlds, William C. Davis finds surprising similarities between the two men.

Author fails to peel back the layers.
Revisado: 03-06-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I purchased this book because I’ve studied the southern generals of the Civil War and I thought this would be a good bridge into the northern subject matter. I have read a few books and listened to three biographies in which General Lee was a pivotal character. Based on the author's portrayal of Lee I am confident Grant's story leaves much to be desired. Your time would be much better spent studying one man at a time.
What do you think your next listen will be?
My next book will be about General Grant.
Which character – as performed by Traber Burns – was your favorite?
Traber Burns gives a subtle performance and I would not shy away from listening to one of his other narrations.
Any additional comments?
Clouds of Glory by Michael Korda is a great listen.
