Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
This is a story about various forms of bonds. It is about power over, love, resistance and submission.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The twins! How they were there for each other. How they held each other accountable.
Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. There's something unique in his voice.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
Don't know but the story definitely educates one on the issue of torture.
Any additional comments?
This was a tough read for me. I wondered why I kept listening at various points. Something about it did not let me give up on it.

Historia
People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

Historia
Picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night takes reluctant witch Diana Bishop and vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont on a trip through time to Elizabethan London, where they are plunged into a world of spies, magic, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the School of Night. As the search for Ashmole 782—the lost and enchanted manuscript whose mystery first pulled Diana and Matthew into one another's orbit—deepens and Diana seeks out a witch to tutor her in magic, the net of Matthew's past tightens around them.

This is entertaining historical fantasy!!!
Revisado: 10-02-12
What made the experience of listening to Shadow of Night the most enjoyable?
The different characters, how she blends rather weaves facts into fiction, the narrator does a wonderful job switching between characters and the story is a different take on a familiar aspect the plot. Looking forward to the next book. Don't think I want it to be the last but hope she doesn't over do a good thing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The little boy.. sharp, smart, quick and articulate.
What does Jennifer Ikeda bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Can't say except I think there should of been a second reader. There were too many characters besides the main two, for one person.
If you could rename Shadow of Night, what would you call it?
I understood at the end that "Shadow" refers to a who and it made perfect sense. Won't change it.

Power and Control with a twist
Revisado: 06-11-12
What did you love best about The Delilah Complex?
Surprise ending.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Even though I suspected who was responsible early on wasn't completely sure but never suspected how the ending unfolded.
Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, that was the second reason why I decided to listen to the book. I prefer Phil's performance on other books more than this one but maybe with someone else it would of worked.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No.
