Historia
The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

I did not know Arnold had written a book. It makes me proud of him that he has worked so hard to become the best version of himself. It’s admirable!

Historia
In Sweden there is a kind of decluttering called döstädning, dö meaning "death" and städning meaning "cleaning." This surprising and invigorating process of clearing out unnecessary belongings can be undertaken at any age or life stage but should be done sooner rather than later, before others have to do it for you. In The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, artist Margareta Magnusson, with Scandinavian humor and wisdom, instructs listeners to embrace minimalism.

At first I felt odd about listening to this book, because of the subject matter. However, very glad I listened to it. It is intriguing, helpful and very educational. Also seemed very personable in it’s delivery

I WOULD ask BETTY WHITE! She Rocks!
Revisado: 01-16-20
If you've not read this book I wouldn't waste any time waiting around. It is humorous, refreshing, truthful - full of integrity and laughter. It's inspiring, moving (is that the same thing?) and just makes you feel like you can do anything. And you'll understand why she was smiling such a great deal of her life. She's genuinely happy and unapologetic about it. So often, we feel if we are successful, be it financially, in love or in career, that we have to underplay or feel guilty, in case others aren't as fortunate. But Betty, though genuinely humble and kind, is also genuinely happy and content with her career choice, the loves and passions she's chosen (many of those who are pets and friends of pets) and yes, unapologetic. She says that 'Some may consider her a Pollyanna' but asks the reader to bear with her whilst she enjoys her memories. She is one of the most successful actresses on the planet, wrote this book at age 89, is now 97 and still smiling. I understand she played poker with friends to celebrate her 97th b'day. Keep on rockin' Betty! Many out here appreciate you so very much and all you have given the world.

Historia
Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they’re afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough. In Girl, Stop Apologizing, number-one New York Times best-selling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company, Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people - whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee....

Really Spectacular book - I LOVE Dick Van Dyke
Revisado: 01-16-20
As a huge Dick Van Dyke fan I'd already read his book "Keep Moving," but hadn't read this earlier work. It was moving, inspiring, and I found the honesty of it completely refreshing. I know there are many stages of life where we feel lost and Mr. Van Dyke was not afraid to touch on each of those stages. To boot, he talked about the times he had to search his own heart and/or admit to himself that he "had a problem." And he had to do it more than once in both his personal life and his career. I enjoyed hearing that the rapport shown on "Diagnosis Murder" episodes with his real-life son, is true to his life. And apparently, he is equally as close to each of his family members. Again, refreshing! It was nice to hear also, that he is truly a person full of joy and hope - and who finds that 'Love is that which gives life meaning.' Thank you so much, Dick Van Dyke, for sharing this incredible story of your life with the world. Or at least the part I'm in - as I was privileged enough to read it. (Or in my case, hear it. I listened to it every day on my way to work and back and enjoyed hearing the story spoken in your own voice.) I hope if you ever ready your own reviews, you know you are loved by many and have a remarkable legacy. ;-) I hope you continue to enjoy every moment my friend.

Laugh and cry
Revisado: 07-11-19
This is one of the greatest book I’ve ever read or listened to. I laughed, cried, and felt like the therapist was real, approachable and someone I would actually like to meet. I also loved every one of her characters, especially Julie who was so elegantly learning to live with the news of her impending death, and Rita, who was on a long journey to find some inkling of self forgiveness, as well as worthiness. The story of John I cannot even think about without crying- how do you lose a child and still hold onto yourself and those you still love? I will long remember this book and these stories of hope, restlessness, hopelessness, grief, backsliding and then hope again. Thank you Lori, for the incredible book. I’m so glad you didn’t write the book you were dreading that would’ve been just words on a page. This book was what you were meant to do and you did it incredibly well. Having been under a lot of grief of my own of late, I found this book a kind reminder that life seldom goes as we have planned, that it’s okay to grieve our losses, even those that might seem frivolous, like our youth. Sometimes it’s all right just to be and to awkwardly dance while we “Let it be.”

Incredible Book for Caregivers needing Encouraged
Revisado: 05-18-18
This book is amazing. It is loaded with encouragement for those who are caregivers, whether they are long-time caregivers or new to caregiving. They can find hope, tips, candor and a little humor to ease the pain just from reading this book. I guarantee upon reading it, if you are a caregiver, you will no longer feel so alone. The chapters are short - so it can easily be used just as a quick reference or a quick page of encouragement. No matter what chapter you flip to, you'll find something good to hang onto. Mr. Rosenberger does a great job reminding caregivers that it is okay to take care of themselves so they can have/keep the strength to be better caregivers. I wish I would've had it when I was caring for my mom.
