Historia
In this ambitious audiobook, best-selling author Sanjeev Sanyal chronicles the grand sweep of history from East Africa to Australia, conjuring the great cities of Angkor and Vijayanagar, medieval Arab empires, and Chinese "treasure fleets" in rich, vivid detail. He explores remote archaeological sites, maritime trading networks, and half-forgotten oral tales to challenge established historical narratives with fresh evidence. Shining new light on medieval geopolitics and long-lost cities, The Ocean of Churn is a mesmerizing journey into the heart of a vibrant civilization.

Fascinating, honest and truly adds to knowledge
Revisado: 09-24-24
The book is adventurous, honest and brave. Although it didn’t labour the points but it does makes you wonder about unilateral absolute truths that we hold so dear to us as a rock of certainty in our tumultuous times. The cyclical and templated nature of history is striking to see unfolding and a little saddening to be honest.
Great reading and I look forward to more books from the respected author.

Twenty years on, Hancock returns with the sequel to his seminal work filled with completely new scientific and archaeological evidence, which has only recently come to light.

Don’t dismiss this book
Revisado: 02-07-23
And the author too.
Graham’s heart and mind is at the right place and he is coming from a good place. His data might appear far fetched to some but his conclusion and warnings shouldn’t be taken lightly. Our current behaviour to him reminds me of the movie “Don’t Look Up”. I don’t know what I can do about it this matter but surely I can help by not mocking it.

Earth shattering!
Revisado: 01-20-23
I’m just a layman who knows next to nothing about epochs and what not but belonging to a culture from antiquity I could correlate to so many points made in this book. It does makes one rethink about how we have turned a deaf ear to the voices from the past and whether relegating everything to mere hearsay and folklore might prove fatal to us. The pandemics have shown to us that nothing is impossible and things don’t always slowly devolve but can go catastrophic suddenly. Preparedness is the only remedy, not sure though how much as individuals but atleast as a society.

Revisado: 12-01-20
I was feeling annoyed for having to switch from Frank Muller to George Guidall after the 4th part of Dark Tower by Stephen King in Wolves of the Calla. George is a master in his own right but after books of Muller’s Roland I just couldn’t get George’s vocalisations of these characters. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and the Dark Tower would never be the same again.
What a talent. Sad that I found you and lost it too soon.

This is the missing piece if you still haven’t completely figured out what was going on in Germany during the WW2 era. You walk the streets and talk to people of an age, which although not too far back, that seems almost incredible now.

Today's view of history cannot account for ancient anomalies, such as the Pyramids and advanced knowledge contained in India's Vedas. But in 1894, an Indian sage gave us an explanation not only for our hidden past but for the trends of today and for our future enlightenment - the 24,000-year yuga cycle.

Fascinating
Revisado: 06-30-19
The book has content that cannot be verified empirically but it is fantastic and fascinating surely. If you are familiar with Eastern spiritual concepts the contents of this book may not come as a surprise. Frankly, they sound intuitive deep down no matter how strange they sound to our ears. A lot of religious philosophy would actually tie neatly into it. Keep an open heart and you might actually come out a little more sceptical about the modern “obvious” knowledge.

As mentioned, it is one of those books that would change the way we understand our emotions and our life and their interplay.
Immensely helpful and surely worth a second reading to assimilate everything in it.
