I almost did not get this book after reading the reviews about the narrator, but I loved all the books before it and gave it a try. Thank goodness I did. From the first words I understood why some would not find the voice of the book. For me it was different, I heard the voice of the women in my life. I heard the voice of many black women I have known. It may be that some have not had exposure to voices of women of color, so the reading sounds flat or does not have inflections they are use to.
All I can say is open your mind and heart and you will love this reading as much as all the books before this one.
The story line is wonderful, I don't want to give away the plot. Just know that there are new dimensions.

Left me wanting more

Often I read of strong women of earth in science fiction/ fantasy but seldom do I find a book with a strong woman from another planet that is not evil. This short had such a woman that is strong of character and strength. She was not shy about her desires. The male was funny and loveable, I enjoyed him as well.

Funny and fast paced. I loved how each book in the series brings in different races not only from space but on earth.

Back when Natie was a biker club's girl, she'd get attached to every cheating throttle jockey who gave her the time of day. Rinse and repeat. At 37, it seems she still hasn't learned. A handsome wolf in leathers like Dirty would eat her alive, then walk into the bar the next night and treat her like yesterday's drink. It's not as if he can help it, and Natie can't help but let him.

So Very Unexpected !

In most shifter books the age is so very youthful. In this one I was taken by surprise. The pair were older and already had loads of life experience. I don't want to give away the plot, I will say it was refreshing to have persons of an older age. Well worth the read. I will revisit this story again.
The only draw back for me was it was just much to short.

I loved the format of this story and the readers were some of the best I have heard in a long time. The plot drew me right in. I will not give away the ending all I can say is, wow!!!
