She’s a Good Person
Revisado: 01-07-25
I enjoyed this very personal insight about Sheryl Crow. I didn’t know that much about her. I think she is a good person and her music is wonderful. I was living in LA and I used to drive on Santa Monica Blvd. to go to work in the mornings and I would love hearing her song!

Historia
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Historia
In Deep Hole, one of the world’s foremost crime novelists crafts a sweet, poignant romance novella that could only come from his perfectly calibrated sense of time and place. It incorporates fights and misunderstandings and rejection, and is set against the backdrop of a quiet surfing town in Rhode Island where everyone knows each other’s business—and pleasure.

Surfing Tension!
Revisado: 08-18-24
This was a good slice of life that went full circle with surfing in the Rhode Island snow. I liked it as a story of a young man who makes poor decisions, but in the end, stays true to himself and his love of surfing.

This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

Loved Along the Way
Revisado: 06-27-24
Cute story, not too deep, easy to listen to, fun. Predictable romance story. Did not feel too much tension between the main characters, so a little hard to believe the intensity of being in love.

Historia
Welcome to the summer of 1985 in Philadelphia, when the city was rocked—in almost every sense of the word—by two unprecedented events: Mayor W. Wilson Goode’s May 13 decision to bomb the headquarters of MOVE, a controversial Philadelphia-based radical communal organization, and the July 13 Live Aid concert, where international rock royalty convened in Philly to raise money for victims of the Ethiopian famine. Separated by just two months and eight miles, these events would showcase both the best and the worst of the so-called City of Brotherly Love.

Thank you for this informative work. When I added this to my library, I thought it was about the music. I had no idea everything that was going on in 1985, especially with the Move Organization. This is an important story and I hope a lot of people get to listen to it.

LOL Stories!

The short stories were funny, and I enjoyed them. I just wish the narrators didn’t use the same tone in reading all the stories. It was sometimes difficult to discern when one story was ending in the next one was beginning.

Disappointed
Revisado: 02-29-24
I have read several of this author’s books and enjoyed them. However, I found this book to have too many drawn out descriptions and conversations that were not relevant to the story. The conversation regarding the Nigerian priest was not appreciated, nor was the subsequent comment by Gabriel regarding “white slavery.”
