Ah geez, so much rape and sexual violence
Revisado: 03-11-24
I'm sure the "hero" manages to get the bad guys (sex traffickers) in the end, but I just can't stomach all the depictions of rape and sexual violence, including child rape.

Outstanding series

Sorry I paid for the whole series
Revisado: 11-22-23
Too much "God" talk. Too much praying. Too much whining over the inability to conceive. Too repetitive. Too many somatic complaints (stomach clenching, heart pounding, face twitching, chest tightness, and so on). And we aren't even finished with the first in the series. Guess we should have investigated more before wasting a credit on this series.

Couldn't get past chapter 3
Revisado: 10-17-22
Ugh, I've read some of this author's previous books, but I could not hack this one at all. The only reason I listened to 3 chapters before giving up is that I was hoping it would improve. The John Corey (lead) character is a misogynistic womanizer. He's uncouth, uncultured, and vulgar. He tells an anti-Muslim joke very early on. I just can't listen to this BS any further. Fortunately, I found a way to get a refund of 1 credit. Yuck.

Rape and torture of teenage girls
Revisado: 08-07-22
I am so tired of the theme of rape and torture. I won’t be getting any more books from this author. I also found the narrator’s voice annoying when she portrayed a number of the female characters.
