Historia
In a not-too-distant future, a simple outpatient procedure that has been promised to increase empathy between romantic partners has become all the rage. So when Briddey Flannigan's fiancé proposes that he and Briddey undergo the procedure, she is delighted! Only, the results aren't quite as expected. Instead of gaining an increased empathetic link with her fiancé, Briddey finds herself hearing the actual thoughts of one of the nerdiest techs in her office. And that's the least of her problems.

Gave up on this one.
Revisado: 12-11-22
This book gets so far into the depths of psychology and child care that it lost its flavor. These subjects are okay if that is what you have chosen to read about. But this story is fight for the survival of the human race. With a title like the solar war I went into this expecting high tech machinery battling it out in space. instead I get stomach churning psycho drivel. Belongs on the mundane fiction shelf.

Historia
Ripples in Spacetime is an engaging account of the international effort to complete Einstein's project, capture his elusive ripples, and launch an era of gravitational-wave astronomy that promises to explain, more vividly than ever before, our universe's structure and origin. The quest for gravitational waves involved years of risky research and many personal and professional struggles that threatened to derail one of the world's largest scientific endeavors.

A little too much Einstein
Revisado: 10-31-22
Great listen. Very interesting and informative even to the non scientific crowd like myself. Since every astronomy or astrophysics author always opens with the history of Einstein. Maybe we could skip that in the future or specify that x chapters are about "Albert's boyhood and rise to scientific fame.
You may skip this part if you have heard it before "

Historia
For Henry, a 17-year-old who feels no fear, the day starts like any other - homeless and alone on the streets of Boston. For Sarah, a 20-year-old college dropout, it’s an early morning serving donuts and coffee to commuters at North Station. Fate brings them together at the scene of a bank robbery, which they foil together, along with a mysterious and wealthy woman named Helen, who offers to reward them for their bravery.

All Action, No Story
Revisado: 03-08-22
Not quite what I was expecting, the whole book was non stop action. A fantastical wild ride through a nightmare landscape of blood and gore. I was really hoping that at some point the fighting would stop and a story would break out. Not my usual listen.
Kudos to R C Bray for doing a great narration.
I won't be lining up to purchase any sequels.

Historia
It was supposed to be an easy job: find the Dark Star Revolution Starships, destroy them, and go home. But a booby-trapped vessel decimates the Meridian Alliance fleet, leaving Serengeti - a Valkyrie class warship with a sentient AI brain - on her own, wrecked and abandoned in an empty expanse of space. On the edge of total failure, Serengeti thinks only of her crew. She herds the survivors into a lifeboat, intending to sling them into space. But the escape pod sticks in her belly, locking the cryogenically frozen crew inside.

WTF
Revisado: 04-17-18
I am not even finished this book and already feel the need to ask what the **/& is going on?
It starts out great with an epic space battle, an AI ship and a rather salty captain. Then it deteriorates into a 30 plus year dialogue between the AI and the surviving robot crew. There are some interesting moments but in the long run I am trying to figure out why I should care what happens to any of them. I won't spoil the ending because I haven't gotten that far yet. If this book somehow redeems itself I may amend this review but don't hold much hope.

Main character had some very annoying traits
Revisado: 10-18-17
Without giving away the plot, the main character Jim has some cringe worthy traits and they are not what you might think they would be. This book is not a bad listen but Jim's excessive altruism makes me queasy. His overly devoted sense of guilt for the rest of the world is too much to bear. His morals are skewed and inconsistent. Esentially I didn't really like him. Best to have a listen and decide for yourself.

Enough already
Revisado: 09-27-17
Too much Diogenes not enough Pendergast. Too much of this book is focussed on the evil brother who is supposed to be dead already. This is a character that should be written out of the series permanently, totally unlikable, no redeeming qualities, etc. etc..

Historia
After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

He's Back (James Marsters that is)
Revisado: 01-10-13
Obviously Dresden is evolving and staying fresh, although I am not sure I like the current twist in the story line. Too much Fae and invincible mad queens for my taste. On the other hand with James Marsters back as narrator it kind of makes up for the loss of the quintessential Harry.
