Boring
Revisado: 10-09-24
Too much time spent on character development and no action. Typically the characters can be developed through out the story and not front loaded. I gave up.

Historia
On January 24, 1915, a German naval force commanded by Admiral Franz von Hipper conducted a raid on British fishing fleets in the area of the Dogger Banks. The force was engaged by a British force, which had been alerted by a decoded radio intercept. The ensuing battle would prove to be the largest and longest surface engagement until the Battle of Jutland the following summer.

Good story not entirely suitable for audio books
Revisado: 06-10-21
I was very interested in this important piece of history but I found the large amount of detail hard to follow in audio format without reference information.
It was very well researched. I learned a lot from it and it did not contradict the small amount of knowledge I had on the subject.
I recommend reading rather than listening . This is not meant to be a criticism of the narration but rather the method of transmission.

Historia
At the dawn of the 20th century, when human flight was still considered an impossibility, Germany’s Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin vied with the Wright Brothers to build the world’s first successful flying machine. As the Wrights labored to invent the airplane, Zeppelin fathered the remarkable airship, sparking a bitter rivalry between the two types of aircraft and their innovators that would last for decades, in the quest to control one of humanity’s most inspiring achievements. And it was the airship—not the airplane—that led the way.

A fully engaging well researched and written history of commercial flight
Revisado: 04-25-21
I consider myself relatively knowledgeable of aviation’s history. But this novel by Mr. Rose filled in a lot of gaps and provided a realism of the times, equipment, people and politics. It also demonstrated what people with vision and determination can achieve.
The narration by Mr. Culp kept this long novel enjoyable and engaging.
