Great Writing -Horrible Reading

Whoever had the idea to have the author read her book should be fired. This is a book of amazing fascinating people and stories written beautifully about them. But buy the book, and pass on this audible.
The reading makes even the most exciting people and stories sound dull and it should come with a warning --DO NOT LISTEN IN THE CAR AS IT MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS. Or put you to sleep.
I was so disappointed. I'll try to finish it but more likely, I'll buy the book.

Makes you see life from another perspective

Not only is this an amazing story of courage, it’s history and funny and a great performance. Learning the hard conditions and the evil of apartheid is eye opening. The courage it took to make it through...and Trevor Noah is smart and tells well crafted stories with authenticity and humor and a sense of the bigger
picture. At times I laughed out loud!

Having heard of Stanley and Livingstone, I had no idea of the real story. Interesting background told with detail that makes you feel like you are there with them. Exciting and curious. We kept waiting for that moment. "Dr. Livingstone, I presume..." It didn't disappoint.
