Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Loved the book until the ending
Revisado: 01-30-25
Loved it. Appreciated all the twists as well! The ending was odd and kind of leaves you with a cliffhanger and wondering if the author just ran out of ideas, time, or just decided to make everybody wonder what the heck was going to happen next in hopes to sell the next book in a series. It drops off like a cliff.

Great with caveats
Revisado: 01-18-25
Narrator mispronounced words and it was a little distracting. I really liked the story. I intuitively knew what the ending was going to be before the end of the book. The protagonist in the story was built up to be a very smart character, yet she made a wretched mistake by making herself so vulnerable in the end, which was maddening.
I did enjoy it and recommend this book,

Historia
It was the most expensive bottle of wine ever sold. In 1985, at a heated auction by Christie’s of London, a 1787 bottle of Château Lafite Bordeaux—one of a cache of bottles unearthed in a bricked-up Paris cellar and supposedly owned by Thomas Jefferson—went for $156,000 to a member of the Forbes family. The discoverer of the bottle was pop-band manager turned wine collector Hardy Rodenstock, who had a knack for finding extremely old and exquisite wines. But rumors about the bottle soon arose.

Mehhhh…not quite
Revisado: 10-04-24
I can appreciate this story and the roots. It’s not pieced well together, leaving listeners feeling disconnected.
It’s a “glad I listened but won’t recommend” kind of selection.

Talk to Me like I'm Someone You Love is a brilliant interactive relationship tool that can help couples stop arguing and begin healing. This revised edition features two new sections - one on making love and another on deepening trust - containing more than 25 new "flash cards for real life", statements that hold the power to express what we wish we could say to the person we love but for which we can't find either the right words or the right tone in which to say them.

Absolute garbage
Revisado: 09-18-24
I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous. we’re supposed to pull out a note card when our significant other is inflamed or if are inflamed at them, if we are at a stalemate with regards to what to say, or if we just simply don’t have the words to communicate our feelings. The failure here in my opinion is that most people are reading this book because their feelings have been completely and totally invalidated by their partner. She seems to operate in a fairytale world where somebody magically pulls out one of her little notecards and everything becomes hunky-dory. It’s complete garbage.
So you’re arguing and you’re gonna take time to sift through messaging define just the right note card to hold up in front of them? How juvenile,

At times confusing
Revisado: 08-07-24
It was ok. At times, the voices sounded so much alike that it was hard to keep the character straight.
It feels like the book could’ve probably ended two chapters prior than when it did. Who are all, I somewhat enjoyed it, but it was not one. I felt pulled to keep revisiting.

Historia
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Easy listen - fairly predictable
Revisado: 07-15-24
Appreciate it this one was free. I think I would’ve been disappointed if I paid for it.
It was a cute story, even though there was a murder involved . It was an easy listen, not bone chilling. This one will not keep you up at night.
I found it to be quite predictable, but worth the listen.

Historia
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance.

Foul & offensive language ~ unnecesary !
Revisado: 07-06-24
The story line is ok. I refused to listen to anymore after the 13th use of the words, “Goddamn” and the 15th, “Jesus Christ”.
It’s just unnecessary and it is offensive.

Annoying female narration - fake southern drawl isn’t appealing.
Revisado: 06-22-24
Narration is off-putting. The fake southern drawl is so bad. If the setting was Georgia, the accent may be slightly less gritting. I loathed hitting “play” because of the narration, and it impacted my ability to enjoy the story in general.
The plot is ok but over the top. Tire burning, the notes of “surprise” frosts in VA, etc….it was just not believable.
Maybe I’m jaded because the narration is SO annoying. I’m from NC and live in VA and this is just bad.
