Historia
After the fall of Ringwall, Pentamuria lies in ruins. The magic of the elements is fading away and the realm of fire begins a merciless conquest. In this situation, it is up to Nill, the last Archmage and possible Changer, to sort out the mess and stop Sergor-Don. But the king of the fire realm is not the only threat. A new, incredibly powerful magician who calls himself the "Pillar of Light", along with his followers, demands dominion over Pentamuria and forces Nill to decide whether to fight not only for his own life but for the fate of the whole world.

All Over the Place
Revisado: 10-17-20
Excellent narration by Derek Perkins as usual. The book, however, was awful. I couldn't even get through it. I re-listened to the first 2 books because it had been awhile. I noticed that the 2nd book was somewhat disorganized and stilted and hoped the writer would correct that in the 3rd book, but it's even worse. Nil is there, nil is not there. We're in the present, then we're in the future. I kept rewinding it to try to make more sense of it, but that didn't help.

Historia
The White Lich has conquered Tanar Atain. Soon, he means to take the entire world. Dante suspects his next target will be Bressel, where the Tanarians have established their court in exile. The only chance to stop the lich will be to forge a fragile alliance between the bitter enemies of three different lands: Tanar Atain, Mallon, and Narashtovik. The city stands on the brink of rebellion. Yet even if Dante, Blays, and Gladdic can unite it, they still might not have the strength to stand against the army of the lich.

Just Kill Me Now...
Revisado: 02-23-20
I NEVER write these. I just give my stars and go on about my life. I have some four or five HUNDRED books in my library, and I have never felt the need to write a review until now.
SPOILER ALERT
I think I may realistically die before I have heard how Dante and Blaze, Gladick, and Winden (sp?) baaaaarely made it past the blighted while traversing the city for, I kid you not, the 8th time.... or was it the 9th? Oh? Really? Wow! The 17th??? This book could have been 13 hours and been a MUCH better book, leaving out nothing important. It could have been a book of ^almost^ non-stop action rather than the snore-fest of listening to Robertson explain, in detail, how the characters LITERALLY fight from house to house in an attack of the city. I'm telling you, HOURS OF MY LIFE for them to cross the city - encountering blighted at every turn and, on every encounter, hearing everyone in the party cry how they were out of magic for the hundredth time only to barely make it through by the skin of their teeth. I would have given the book 3 stars given Tim Gerard Reynolds reliably outstanding performance, but I felt the need to offset all the yes-men who rated the book 5 star, which it is not. I appreciate the well-known witty banter between Dante and Blaze, but it did not make up for the boredom of slogging through yet ANOTHER iteration of hiding, waiting, being found, running, fighting, miraculous escape, wash, rinse, repeat.
I really expected better than this at this point.

The jumping back and forth in the timeline was really aggravating and the ending of the book was rushed and could have been done better. All in all, for Mark Lawrence oh, I'm kind of disappointed.

Historia
Throughout the vast lands controlled by the Ironship Trading Syndicate, nothing is more prized than the blood of drakes. Harvested from captive or hunted Reds, Greens, Blues, and Blacks, it can be distilled into elixirs that bestow fearsome powers on the rare men and women known as the Blood-blessed. But not many know the truth: that the lines of drakes are weakening. If they fail, war with the neighboring Corvantine Empire will follow swiftly.

Fantastic story, Horrible narrator
Revisado: 08-13-18
For the love of all that is good, get a better reader for the second book. It was sad to hear such a wonderful story read in such monotonous tones. Try Simon Vance or Tim Gerard Reynolds.

Historia
Behind its walls, the Convent of Sweet Mercy has trained young girls to hone their skills for centuries. In Mystic Class, Novice Nona Grey has begun to learn the secrets of the universe. But so often even the deepest truths just make our choices harder. Before she leaves the convent, Nona must choose which order to dedicate herself to - and whether her path will lead to a life of prayer and service or one of the blade and the fist. All that stands between her and these choices are the pride of a thwarted assassin, the designs of a would-be empress wielding the Inquisition like a knife, and the vengeance of the empire's richest lord.

Many Distracting Mispronunciations
Revisado: 05-13-18
I would have given the narrator 5 stars too, but the innumerable mispronounced words distracted me from the story every time.

Cheese
Revisado: 12-07-16
Despite over 200 titles in my library, I have never written a book review for Audible. I had to write this one because this book was THAT BAD. I selected this book because it was rated so highly by so many people. I had to force myself through it and there were several scenes where I seriously pictured a Power Rangers scene... Yes, it was that bad. It's written in first person - which is a big distraction in this case. Really, it's just awful. It has a couple of good scenes, but not many and they aren't strong ones. Weak writing, cheesy story line that is waaaay too close to Judeo-Christian beliefs and bears no real originality.
