These books are almost identical to the show. I feel like I’m in Cabot Cove with Jessica herself biking around the little town, hanging out with Seth Hazlitt and the Metzgers. Absolutely perfect comfort food listening, Murder She Wrote is the coziest of the cozies!

Also, I figured out who the murderer was and I’m pretty proud of myself

This is an incredible resource for tarot beginners. The author’s voice is so laid back yet passionate, and the narrator does a great job showing that.

An excellent recording of a very dense play

Henry V has been and always will be a bit daunting to me. The heavy use of figurative language, poetry, and the sheer amount of characters make this play one of the plays I’m intimidated by. However, this recording is an excellent supplement to just reading the text, and with a large amount of the text preserved (I was reading the Folger edition while listening, only a few lines here and there were missing) it’s one of the best recordings of a Shakespeare play that I’ve encountered on audible. My only real issue with the recording was the massive amount of sound effects used, they got a little repetitive after the first few acts.

I can understand why some people wouldn’t like this book. The action moves slowly, and the horror is subtle. There’s no concrete enemy or haunting, and much of the book talks about the lives and wants of Eleanor, the main character. However, it worked so well for me. From page one I was feeling the ominous and oppressive atmosphere of Hill House and the explanations unnerved me to no end.
If you’re looking for the experience you get watching the original Netflix show, you may be disappointed. If you’re looking for the original story and want to experience an entirely new story set in a familiar setting then I highly recommend this book. You’re not going to jump out of your seat from the fear, but the story and narration were just enough to unnerve and worry me.

Funny, but too mean spirited for me to fully enjoy.

There was quite a bit I found amusing in this book. However, I felt like the unrelenting use of “retarded” as a punchline and the entire chapter consisting of a white woman imitating an Asian accent made me cringe through the chapters and definitely took away from the amusing bits of the story.
