This book is just a top notch YA from Klune. I won’t deny that the story progression is a bit slow, but it’s still a fun book to read. Would’ve loved to see more NickXSeth, though. Expecting the second book to be loads better.

Michael Lesley is always a fabulous narrator. 10s across the board as usual.

Quaint story about princes and strange endeavors of love.
Really enjoyed that one. Maybe if it'd been a bit longer, it would've indulged more the little prince n me.

This book really builds on the hype of the previous one. I can't get over it's climactic ending.

It takes us back to the detrimental world of Nathan, our chosen one, per se. We can really see Nathan evolve as a boy in a very unfortunate circumstance. And it all really culminates to Nathan's choices. Can love be but questioned for it's reality? Do the people you believe you love really feel the same and as strongly as you love? Hearts and families are put to the test. Nathan is making his own future now. Does he stand with his family and loved ones. Or do his loved ones really just fall around him, breaking and dying.

The very "chosen one" feel to the main character, Nathan, very, very much reminds me of a very wand twitching story I've read years back. The whole story made me remember how much I love the whole fantasy/magic theme. It's like a throwback to years beck when I was reading Narnia and Harry Potter. I can't help but love this book for just that. Reminding me of the joys of being young and in love with a magical world.

Sugar coating of L.G.B.T. sprinkles, of all things

This book is very, very interesting for me. For one thing, I don't normally read books that tackle themes of the supernatural and mystery. With a sugar coating of L.G.B.T. sprinkles, of all things, combined. Or, at least if I am allowed to categorize this book to those themes.

So, we begin with Aidan Lockwood. A seventeen-year-old boy who lives his life so begrudgingly boring, it's so sad. Maybe that was a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea. His story starts with a "hello." Or a metaphorical "hello," that is. His long gone best friend comes back after five years and starts this long string of events that wraps you up in a warm blanket of heart warming romance, and a good old ghost story. How nice and strange. Then, little by little we see this lost thread of memory come back to our Aiden and we see fate on the works. We're smothered in this love dynamic that is destined love. Aidan and Jarrod, apparently, really are meant to be, since Aiden envisioned the two of them being lovers through and through when they were younger. What a gooey love story this is, and at the same time it's nothing really unusual. Two people in love really do act the way Jarrod does to Aiden, and Aiden to Jarrod. It's always heartwarming to find love stories that have this kind of deep rooted love. Real love. Love that is pure and real.
And, I have to mention, the Aiden and Jarrod dynamic is really a good pairing in Wonders of the Invisible World. There's a quote in the book that really got to me: "Everything about us was entirely normal, really. We were as ordinary as anything we might come across in this world." And damn straight, there's nothing abnormal about two boys loving. "Just two people in love."

Clearly I have taken to heart more the relationship between Aiden and Jarrod, but come on. That kind of love is… It's just hard to describe. But, fine, I'll talk about the rest of the book. Don't get me wrong. This book is more than just a passionate love story between two boys.

Aiden is, we find out, a boy with a lot of memory gaps. And it's all due to his mother. Mama Lockwood has been erasing Aiden's memories around the time Jarrod left Aiden's side. How sad and cute at the sad time… But Jarrod's coming back to Aiden's life triggers this relapse on memories and relationships thought to be not there. Basically, Jarrod's coming back messed up mama Lockwood's plans on "protecting" her family. This comes to this, and at the end, papa Lockwood dies, mama Lockwood lives, and alive big brother Lockwood came off a little scarred, but ultimately not understanding a lot of what happened around him and his family. And, of course, the best part, for me, at least, is that Aiden and Jarrod, destined lovers ever since their childhood, live happy and in love. IN LOVE! So so happy for them! My heart bleeds happy tears.

I'm a sucker for a good love story.

It's very difficult to keep this book at heart; I can't help but remember Adele's song, "All I Ask."

"If this is my last night with you, hold me like I'm more than just a friend. Give me a memory I can use… It matters how this ends 'cause what if I never love again?"

I knew from the start that this book isn't just a light read on certain social issues, but my goodness.
All we do want is just to be happy. Aaron just wants to be happy. Happy with himself, happy in life, but I believe Aaron's struggles in his journey is ultimately society's fault. A boy in his position should not be subject to so much prejudice & hate. It pains me so much to see a boy, even a fictional boy, be broken because of society. It is our responsibility to stop things like the evils that befallen Aaron's journey to ever happen in the real world. Children around the world live in persecution for being who they are, or even die by other or their own hands. IT IS NOT FAIR!
I cry for all the hate in this world. Stupid, ignorant hate.
Arguably, the Leteo Institute's memory-alteration procedure in More Happy Than Not is also a repercussion of how society can try to help itself; it can also damage itself. Memory alteration really is an interesting subject. Would it be helpful or harmful? That, I would leave to you, reader, to contemplate on. But here we see that society can really help or kill people. It matters how it ends.

I will do my part in making this world better for the sake of Aaron, a character in a world beyond my reach.
For me, do I have a choice. Would I rather be happy than not. Would you?

Would you consider the audio edition of Six of Crows to be better than the print version?

Nope. I don't think it really gives a groundbreaking difference. Of course, other than giving that character depth that a physical book can't ever give in comparison to a recorded audio-book version of a story that has a cast to emulate and embody the characters within.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how it was original, meaning a good stand alone book, but still had those easter eggs from the original Grisha trilogy.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved all their intimate scenes, all 3 pairs of them.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Saints...

Would you listen to The Too-Clever Fox again? Why?

Sure. Because it's a good fairytale. Had that classic feel of "don't do this or die."

Any additional comments?

I really liked that one. It had a very Brothers Grimm feel to it. And who doesn't like a little Grimm.
