Leadership by example at its finest

I put the author through BUD/S training and had a mention in the book on the value of being on time. I share the same thoughts on leadership and how to apply that in all aspects of life. If you want inspiration and valuable insights into the human psyche that all successful people share then this book is for you.

What did you love best about What If...?

Shirley is an excellent actress and it comes through in her audible books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shirley tells her own life story in a fascinating and intriguing way.

Have you listened to any of Shirley MacLaine’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to three of Shirley's earlier works and this one was my favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoy Shirley's candid insight into the behind the scenes look at the Hollywood elite.

Top notch book from the past.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The detail in this book was amazing. I've found few books dealing with this subject that had the detail and insight provided by the author. Not only was the author a civil war veteran giving his insight to battle strategy but he had also studied the accounts of ancient authors and visited the battle sites. Because the book was written in the late 1800's the fog of time was not as thick as it is now. I also enjoyed the authors insights from his perspective as an officer and how different tactics from the American civil war were similar or different. Overall outstanding book to listen to and I wish all the books by this author were available on the audible format. If they were I'd buy them all because this book was that engrossing and informative.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hannibal?

His strategy for crossing of the Alps.

Which scene was your favorite?

The account of the famous strategic battle of Cannae. The author gave excellent insight into all the major characters involved in the action.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The tragic inability of Hannibal to receive the support from Carthage he needed to finish the Roman army and force a peace agreement.

I've always been a big fan of all her movies. I saw the made for TV mini-series "Out on a Limb" many years ago and had a spiritual awakening. This is one of her best books yet and I'm amazed at the level of information that came through on this one. Fantastic giver to humanity!! I hope she lives well past a hundred because she keeps getting better.
