Immature Drama

The immature nature of the drama in this book is better suited for a Young Adult book. The main characters are supposed to be adults (a previously married woman and a successful businessman) but continue to think and act like immature teenagers. It was frustrating and disappointing. The MMC is a hotheaded wimp and the FMC is overly dramatic and obtuse. At one point the FMC blocks all contact with the MMC after an argument but states to her sister that he is ‘so wonderful and perfect and has done nothing wrong’ but then is upset that he ‘hasn’t reached out to her since the argument EVEN THOUGH she has cut off all communication with him. PLUS this moron continually takes it upon herself to speak to the press about her (and thus his) private life without first talking to him OR his Publicist of which any celebrity would have for things like that. She acts like a child but is supposedly a therapist. Ugh.

Sweet story, perfect read for when you need something low angst and happy. Likeable characters and Bonus epilogue might be the best part! I feel sorry for anyone who DNF because they missed Memaw in action. The description made me want to gag and laugh at the same time.

Sean did such a good job! I got chills during the feline scene. Sean did such a good job voicing the male character.

Loved this one! So far my favorite. I liked Kristos as a MMC and the drama was a bit different this time. Still OW drama like all of these books but this time it was not Kristos’ other woman. That was a twist that kinda popped out of no where.

Finally a book that has satisfying grovel!! I dislike it when the heroine gives in too quickly or the main male character doesn’t hardly even grovel. This was a super satisfying read! I loved both characters and despite there being Other Woman stuff at the very beginning when she meets him kissing another woman, it was necessary for the plot and there wasn’t any mention of MMC with anyone after meeting the MFC. So if you hate OW stuff like me you’ll find this won’t be an issue.

I liked the narrator, he did a perfectly fine job. I never had any issues understanding who was talking and I felt his tempo and accent to be pleasant to listen to. I loved the story, I love ‘he fell first’ stories and MMC obvious devotion for the FMC was endearing. I wish there were trigger warnings about the AMOUNT of death described in this story. The villian kills 14 people and the FMC’s entire family by the end of the book. At one point the villian throws someone alive off the top of the castle. And it’s made clear that the FMC beloved older brothers are killed in a horribly painful way on purpose out of cruelty and spite. I really wish I’d had known these triggers before reading or I’d have waited to read at a later time when I wasn’t dealing with my own emotional personal things as well. It was pretty triggering for me and I cried a lot. Usually I turn to romance as my happy place with guaranteed happily ever afters but I found this time to be more upset reading this than I’d normally be. It was a great story and well written of course, love Lynsay Sands books.

Trigger warning: you listen to the villain kill a girl that audience just gets to know. A girl he’s hurt in the past.

I liked the story! Love a strong heroine and a strong hero who wants to save her as well as keep her wild and free. The group of comrades and the adventure was perfect. But the writing was Very drawn out. It felt like all the inner dialog and going over the same sentiment over and over and over was really just to fulfill a word count number the author had to meet. Sometimes it’s nice to read something and understand the character’s feelings by just using our brains, without having it spelled out directly for us and then summarized in three different ways.

The “hero” blackmails, intimidates, manipulates and gaslights the main character. Then admits he was acting and the reason he wants to keep the dating is because he has an important role that has requested to meet her & were supposed to swoon for him now. The romance part was not done well at all, I have never hated a ‘hero’ more. Wish his part was written better, shown him falling for her and turning into a good and remorseful guy after maybe one or two times.
