Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Highly recommend, especially if you have any relationship to caffeine. Which we all know, you do.

Historia
When you’ve betrayed your revolutionary cadre, an off-grid fight club on a remote tropical island is a good place to hide - or die. For notorious ex-hacker Emily Kim, the outcome of each fight makes little difference. Black-market blood sport is the perfect self-imposed penance. But when she stumbles on a plot to overthrow the corporate empire that provides the ubiquitous global feed, Emily discovers her old friends have been targeted. Warning them will force her out into the open, back on-grid, and directly into danger. Emily can’t escape the past. But can she seize the future?

A plausible glimpse into our future..with spys!

This entire series had me riveted, I couldn’t wait for the next installment, and would listen in 1-2 hour chunks when I could (though often 20-30min would be what I had).
The author does an amazing job putting you in the time, mind, and space of the characters. By the third book I had a hunch for when the story may take a turn, but no idea how, he does a good job keeping you guessing.
Start with analog, and be ready for a ride.

Last summer, The New Yorker published chef Anthony Bourdain's shocking, "Don't Eat Before Reading This." Now, the author uses the same "take-no-prisoners" attitude in his deliciously funny and shockingly delectable audiobook, sure to delight gourmands and philistines alike.

Watch the TED Talk, Skip this book
Revisado: 04-18-19
Honestly, quite repetitive. Not much if anything gained beyond the ted talk. Which was quite good! Watch the talk, Skip the book.
