Historia
When the anonymous invite arrived, we knew exactly who it was from. Elle Romero, the beautiful, charismatic Texan who burst into our lives when we were teenagers. We'd gone our separate ways and lost touch. Until now. Elle, the legendary prankster, is back. She's invited us all—me, Claire, Lizzie and Megan—to a swanky country house for a reunion. We arrive excited for a weekend of reminiscing and reconnecting. A chance to step out of our uneventful lives for a while. But when Elle fails to show up at her own party, we begin to wonder if she's up to her old tricks.

Like a good old fashioned mystery.
Revisado: 09-11-24
Thoroughly enjoyed this listen. I grew up reading and loving mystery book and continue to love them as an adult. For some reason this listen took me back to those wonderful books and times when I couldn’t put the book down, just kept wanting to know what would happen next. Highly recommend. Does the ending mean there’s the possibility of a sequel??

Very Disappointed.
Revisado: 09-08-24
For years James Patterson has been one of my go-to authors. I absolutely love the Women’s Murder Club series. This however is a huge miss for me. This is my first try at the BookShot short listens and it is not for me. I couldn’t finish it. It is NOT a James Patterson book as I know them.

Historia
I thought he was dead. Until I saw him staring back at me… Ten years have passed since my beloved sister was murdered, leaving behind her sweet five-year-old daughter, Lily. I’m trying my best to care for Lily and salvage what’s left of our shattered family. I promised to keep her safe after all she’s been through, and after a lot of challenges, I hope she might be starting to lead a normal life again. But then I see a face in a photo I took just yesterday that turns my blood to ice.

It’s a good listen. Moves along quite well. A couple of surprising twists. But the end left a lot to be desired. While it did have an overall good ending it was sooooo sudden. The ending really needs to be tweaked!

Historia
The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Shalini Boland a favorite.
Revisado: 08-18-24
Shalini Boland has quickly become one of my favorite authors. It was but a few months ago that I read my first book by her and just can’t get enough. Highly recommend this listen but absolutely do listen to the very very end. The book seemed, imo, to come to a quick ending and I started to be disappointed but thankfully I listen on through the epilogue and loved the surprise that came.

A great story but at times confusing.
Revisado: 08-17-24
It’s a very intriguing storyline. Surprises around every corner and held my interest as it went along. There is a lot of jumping back and forth in time but towards the last couple of hours it became a bit confusing. Held out to the end and the end and epilogue were good. I’m debating whether or not to listen to the last couple of hours again.
Despite the confusion at times I do recommend the book.

When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....
