Historia
After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty. Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust. Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Action packed, but…

I went back to refresh my memory of where things left off in the last book. Glad that I did or I would have been completely lost. Just as exciting as the last few. I assume there will be another. There has to be, right? This ending is just another cliff hanger.

Heartwarming mystery/thriller
Revisado: 01-13-25
This story made me feel all the emotions. I worried I wouldn’t enjoy it at first. It has some sobering moments, but ultimately, I loved it. It ended just the way I’d hoped it would without being unrealistic—a marriage of pragmatism and hope amongst a sad reality.

This was dumb. Entirely predictable. Suspense around a huge event that seemed thrown together to justify ridiculous behavior and stupid life choices. Do not recommemd.

Loved this story. Interesting concept that had me philosophizing internally the whole time. Likable characters and I especially enjoyed where the stories collided.

Historia
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Loved this!
Revisado: 11-17-23
Cutest little feel-good book I’ve read in years! The reader’s voice was lovely to listen to and I even enjoyed her transitions between Sam’s voice and Gracie’s—something that usually sounds strange to me. I wish she could read every book to me! Writing was great too! The story has a Hallmark-movie vibe but there’s also something unique in the story. I just really enjoyed this book.

Historia
Carter Beckett is the NHL’s resident bad boy, top player both on the ice and in the bedroom, and quite possibly the sexiest man to ever grace my field of vision. But worst of all? He knows it. He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next. I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it’s far less complicated than Carter Beckett.

Good fun
Revisado: 03-31-23
Unbelievable story, but a cute, fun read.
A little to sappy for my taste. I know nothing about hockey, but I’m positive banter between teammates and opponents does not revolve around spouses, significant others, or whoever they’re sleeping with. I also don’t think actual human men would speak at all like Carter speaks to Olivia. Romantic, but stories like this set women up with unrealistic expectations. I’m not saying men can’t feel this way, but they don’t say these things out loud or even think to say them.

Exciting read!
Revisado: 04-21-21
Out of the Red and into the Black was an emotional and riveting freshman novel. The brutal and graphic moments in the novel juxtaposed with the raw and sensitive topic provided compensation for the vigilante justice. It created a satisfying balance. Ahalt's story is a mash up of "Dexter" meets "Criminal Minds." The only warning I can offer is to be ready, he left me wanting more. I hope he's working on the sequel because I can't wait to read about Adam's children, and learn about what Brian and his "niece" and "nephew" have gotten themselves into!
