I loved every part of this from the story to the reader. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoyed The Bear series.

What am I missing?

With the introduction of each new character, there was a minimum of an hour of their backstory. I struggled to get through this and the one thing I wanted to hear the conclusion of was in the freaking epilogue. I can not understand how this is an award winning book.

Every young woman needs to read this

I am not going to give any spoilers but I will say I felt Lily's struggle from the very beginning to the very end. I will never again wonder, "why doesn't she just leave", when I hear stories of women in this situation. I have a deeper understanding of how hard a situation that is.

great story and narration

I liked this book so much because it was unique and the narration brought it to life. I read a lot and it's hard to find a unique story that's different from anything else I've read and this one fit the bill.

Above all else, the narrator's were excellent. Especially Med. The story was really good and was unique.....that is kind of rare anymore to find a truly new story. I recommend this book!

I loved this book

Honestly, most mysteries are easy to figure out but this one kept me guessing. The performer was excellent and I didn't even mind the parts that went to sound effects because they were few. I will say I would have preferred they kept the kissing sounds out but overall, this is the first book that has sound effects that didn't drive me up the wall. The story was well written and I enjoyed it very much.

Now I remember why I stopped reading Jodi Picoult

I don't even know where to start with this. The first few hours were about Egypt. interesting at first, exhausting after several hours of it. But all that history was necessary so parallels could be drawn between Egyptology and Dawn/Wyatt/Brian. I did find the death doula parts really interesting. The timeline was super confusing but I guarantee I won't listen again to figure it all out. By the end, I hated Dawn so much. What a selfish person. There's no spoiler alert needed because there is no ending. Just a typical Picoult BS end that I'm sure is under the pretense of letting the reader come to their own conclusions. Frankly, it's a cop out and a lazy way to end a book that truly needed one. I kept thinking I wonder what Dawn will do and surprise, we will. never know. I enjoyed her last book but given it actually did have an ending, I'd wager it was a ghost writer. There's no doubt here it's Picoult because she does her typical.non-ending ending. Disappointing.

I just can't.

How many times did I fast forward through parts of this....omg. Introduce a character and then spend 2 hours describing their life from birth. no thanks. So hard to get through, so repetitive...but I did only for the ending to be the worst non-ending cop out ending ever. I don't hate many books but I hated this one.
