Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Although a novel, it tells a deeply moving story of the women who served in Viet Nam. Deeply researched, it could easily be a true story. Couldn’t stop listening.

This was a fascinating, multi-layered kidnapping/murder mystery that kept me glued to my headphones for the entire story. Beautifully narrated and interesting characters. Twists all along the way. Highly recommend!

Love these short "Interludes!"

Once again, I was able to spend a few hours with my NYPSD family. How I love these characters. This story, while less deep than the full length books, doesn't disappoint. I recommend it. And Susan Erickson is the BOMB!!

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Thanks for pointing me to this book!

I thought "Pillars of the Earth" and "World Without End" were my all time faves, but this one is right up there with them. The narrators make this a five star listen, but the plot itself, and the writing, are superior. I couldn't put it down. I found myself listening where I had never listened before. I cannot recommend it more highly!
