Historia
With extraordinary access to the West Wing, Michael Wolff reveals what happened behind-the-scenes in the first nine months of the most controversial presidency of our time in Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House. Since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, the country—and the world—has witnessed a stormy, outrageous, and absolutely mesmerizing presidential term that reflects the volatility and fierceness of the man elected Commander-in-Chief.

Second verse same as the first ....
Revisado: 01-07-18
There have been numerous books penned about our moronic president and his puppet masters, except he took exception with this one. He took major exception with this one, which to me gives it some credibility. It’s a redundant read, a moron is a moron.

This was a "light" and "fun" book full of trivial facts. Certainly not heavy reading. Just trivial, interesting (if you didn't know) and fun.

400 Things Cops Know shows police work on the inside, from the viewpoint of the regular cop on the beat - a profession that can range from rewarding to bizarre to terrifying, all within the course of an eight-hour shift. Written by veteran police sergeant Adam Plantinga, 400 Things Cops Know brings the listener into life the way cops experience it - a life of danger, frustration, occasional triumph, and plenty of grindingly hard routine work.

Well Done. Misinformation present but minimal.
Revisado: 03-22-16
Where does 400 Things Cops Know: Street-Smart Lessons From a Veteran Patrolman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
30-40
What was one of the most memorable moments of 400 Things Cops Know: Street-Smart Lessons From a Veteran Patrolman?
Sgt. Platinga put together a very refreshing, entertaining, "mostly accurate", accessible reality check for citizens. This isn't a book on how to beat the police. Sgt. Platinga does a great job of mixing in just the right amount of "misinformation" to protect a few necessary secrets and a few tricks of the trade. I will only give up one sample; Police cars are far from "mere Detroit steel with transmissions that fall out". Disclaimer: the quality, maintenance and dependability will depend on what ghetto you work in. However, even in the ghetto you're getting "hand me down" no smog, "enhanced" pieces of junk, which beat the local junk. *** It's a Great listen, listen to it a few times, you'll come away with a much better understanding of your local LEO and the nonsense they deal with, delivered in a very straightforward approach with a perfect dash of humor. It's not an easy job (I have it on good authority). Well done Adam!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me smile. : )

Historia
A provocative history that reveals how guns - not abortion, race, or religion - are at the heart of America's cultural divide. Gunfight promises to be a seminal work in its examination of America's four-centuries-long political battle over gun control and the right to bear arms. Adam Winkler uses the landmark 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller, which invalidated a law banning handguns in the nation's capital, as a springboard for a groundbreaking historical narrative.

Not Neutral. Biased toward gun control.
Revisado: 12-01-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The description of the book could have been honest.
What was most disappointing about Adam Winkler’s story?
It turned out to be propaganda. Too bad, I was looking forward to a balanced "neutral" view. Alas, neutral is very subjective.
Would you be willing to try another one of John McLain’s performances?
Nope.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Pity.
Any additional comments?
Buyer beware. It doesn't matter which side of the debate you are on, even if you don't have a side, this on is Not neutral as advertised.

Historia
Bradley Manning perpetrated the biggest breach of military security in American history. While serving as an Army intelligence analyst, he leaked an astounding amount of classified information to WikiLeaks: classified combat videos, plus hundreds of thousands of documents from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and from embassies around the globe. Nearly all of WikiLeaks' headline-making releases of information have come from a single source: Bradley Manning.

Poor, confused, and conflicted, PFC "Brad"
Revisado: 07-09-13
What disappointed you about Private: Bradley Manning, WikiLeaks, and the Biggest Exposure of Official Secrets in American History?
This is basically a one sided account, from Mr. Manning's perspective, of how his conflicted sexual identity/gender identity, the testosterone fueled military mentality and feeling persecuted lead him to passively aggressively, albeit strictly forbidden by UCMJ, leak millions of classified "cables" to potential enemies.
Would you ever listen to anything by Denver Nicks again?
If Mr. Nicks at least tried to exercise some objectivity.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rob Granniss?
Favor Flav
What character would you cut from Private: Bradley Manning, WikiLeaks, and the Biggest Exposure of Official Secrets in American History?
Easy, Bradley -cry me a river- Manning.
Any additional comments?
I actually ended up with this book by accident, but thought I'd give it a go, and try to maintain an open mind. This book is so biased, and the narration extremely whinny, I don't care how open your mind is, it will soon slam the doors. This piece of work is pure garbage. I'd wager that is what written by Manning's defense team. I don't really mean to be harsh, but it looks like "harsh" it is. I'll be seeking a refund.

Rumsfelds rhetoric and idle ramblings
Revisado: 06-18-13
What would have made Rumsfeld's Rules better?
If he had actually shared his Machiavellian magic, instead of propaganda.
What was most disappointing about Donald Rumsfeld’s story?
It's no secret that this guy is a certified Michael Foxtrot and makes Dick Cheney seem warm and friendly. My morbid curiosity was hoping he might just lay it all out there (his management style). Nope, this is pure propaganda. No secrets to obliterating your business rivals here. : (
