Just ok
Revisado: 07-28-21
Just finished up this series. I listen to 3-5 books a week so I was excited to find a trilogy all together. I’m guessing I know why it was all included. The story development wasn’t great, there were lots of gaps in character and the story, like where the virus came from. The first book spent a lot of time building up a character only to drop her down a manhole? The other character seemed concerned but then just went “oh well” and went on with his day. Some of the repetitive use of words was frustrating. I know there are only so many words for monster but hearing “sucker face” repeatedly got on my nerves. Jeds voice was interesting it started pretty normal and ended as a voice that sounded like a sad, garbled version of Sam Elliot if he lost some teeth and had a stroke? It was bad. He sounded like he was a New Yorker with a southern accent at first and ended up sounding like his mouth didn’t open and mumbled everything with an unidentifiable accent ?? There were also phrases that just sounded dumb like when the Glock was referred to as a Gat because the characters were gang members? It came across as racially ignorant and obnoxious. Because that was the only “gang word” used. Then the use of and the need for the narrator to have to say “errrrr” which sounded like a cross between the word and an actual growl, as a Marines response to a question or statement. The way it was written didn’t translate well to spoken word. Im not sure how to explain it. But I’m thinking “tell me you didn’t research how Marines speak, without telling me you didn’t research how Marines speak” I wanted to like the books I really did. I stopped listening in the middle of the 2nd book but came back to finish hoping it would get better. It didn’t. I’ve never listened to this narrator before but I am aware of who he is. I think he did the beat he could with what he had but ugh it was flat most of the time. I feel bad I really wanted to like it.

Amazing story
Revisado: 06-02-21
I don’t usually write reviews of books I have listened to. But this was one of the best books I have listened to. Every sentence draws you in further to Wavy’s story. You become part of it. It was so real and raw and emotional. I cannot say enough. I listened to the entire thing in 2 days!

Hard to start
Revisado: 03-10-21
I’m had a hard time getting into it. 😞 I had to restarted it three times before I could get all the way through it. I am not sure if it was the narrator or the inflection. Once I was able to get into the book I was surprised. I really liked the concept of time traveling. Overall the book was written well, I enjoyed the story and the plot twists. If you can get through the narration I highly recommend the book.

Book 2 was better than the first!!
Revisado: 12-04-20
I had a hard time getting into book one. But I got to say book 2 was better than the first! Paulette finds her self stuck in the future while her friends are trying to find A way to get her back. Can’t help but root for her happiness. Part of you doesn’t want her to find a way to get back. Can’t wait for the next book! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Couldn’t put it down
Revisado: 04-29-20
Another fantastic story in the journey of Mike Fletcher and his extended family. This guy finds himself in more situations then Talbot does. I couldn’t stop listening, especially after Mike ran into X (no spoilers here) I hope this is not the end for this series! Kim did a great job with her narration and I don’t mind her Lucy voice as much as I did in the second book. Way to go Christopher, another well written story! Love them!!!!

I can’t say enough about these books. I absolutely love these sisters! They are so relatable and real. I find myself laughing and sometimes cringing with each dialogue. I wish we could speed up the recording g process a bit so I scan continue with the series!! Wonderfully written well rounded characters. You can’t help but be rooting for them from the beginning.

Historia
In the zombie apocalypse, no one is safe. Not even children. That’s what twelve-year-old Josh and his friends in the Zombie Hunters Club discovered when the undead invaded their school in The Living Dead Boy. Now, Josh and the remaining Zombie Hunters are stuck on a city bus traveling across zombie-infested Texas. With fires burning on the horizon, mass evacuations underway, zombies roaming the countryside, and in-fighting among the adults on the bus creating tension, Josh has never felt so helpless. Despite his father’s insistence that the adults can handle the situation, Josh knows far too well from watching zombie movies that one person can put everyone else at risk.

You'll be hooked from the beginning!!!!
Revisado: 09-27-19
Another amazing series by the author Christopher Artinian brought to life by Kim Bretton. The End of Everything follows the story of 2 "normal" teenage sisters forced to do extraordinary things after tragedy hits. Forced to rely on each other for companionship and safety the girls set of on an adventure to find a new and safe home. The story shows the bond of sisterhood grow. It is not just a story about zombies, its about surviving as a family. From younger sister Ren's strength to older sister Robyn's (sp?) sass, you are hooked and rooting for them from the beginning. You will be impressed by the forethought and the prepping of young Ren and some of the lengths she will go, to protect her sister. This was a wonderful way to start a new series Mr Artinian, Cheers! I cannot wait for Book 2!
