Historia
At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

Conflicted and Appreciative
Revisado: 04-18-25
I will preface this review with the fact that I am an extrovert. I listened to this book in an attempt to understand the world of introverts better. This book did help me in that regard. However the first portion of this book I found to be overly stereotypical and unfairly judgmental of all extroverts. You could feel the author’s anger over being mislabeled and overlooked. The tone and inferences were quite off-putting.
But forcing myself to push through for the sake of the introverts who Loved this book, I found the back half helpful for leading and understanding introverts better.
My guess is that every introvert will love it.

Why is Miami… Miami? What does the heartbreaking fate of the cheetah tell us about the way we raise our children? Why do Ivy League schools care so much about sports? What is the Magic Third, and what does it mean for racial harmony? In this provocative new work, Malcolm Gladwell returns to the subject of social epidemics and tipping points, this time with the aim of explaining the dark side of contagious phenomena. Through a series of gripping stories, Gladwell traces the rise of a new and troubling form of social engineering

Malcolm’s audio books are the best produced books in the world. In top of that, his content is rich. This is brilliant work and insight from the legendary Gladwell. I tell people you should only listen to Malcolm Gladwell’s books. You get lost in the experience.

Historia
An inspiring new perspective on the science versus religion debate. Can science explain everything? Many people think so. Science, and the technologies it has spawned, has delivered so much to the world: Clean water; more food; better healthcare; longer life. And we live in a time of rapid scientific progress that holds enormous promise for many of the problems we face as humankind. So much so, in fact, that many see no need or use for religion and belief systems that offer us answers to the mysteries of our universe. Science has explained it, they assume. Religion is redundant.

Must read for arguments for Faith & Science
Revisado: 07-13-24
I think John Lennox is one of the premier apologists of our time. His approach to faith and science was rational and articulate. He addresses many of the fallacies that surround this false dichotomy. His arguments are credible and cause you to think deeply on whether or not Science can really explain everything. Only thing that surprised me was the low quality of audio. But once he started talking, I forgot about it. Love it when the author reads their own books too. Get this! Give this to any friends who struggle to think faith is a rational way of thinking.

Brilliant. Must listen for anyone looking to coach!
Revisado: 07-05-24
Donald Miller gives clear steps to building a 6-figure coaching business. While this is nothing like his memoir writings, it contains Donald’s whit, clarity, and experience to building a coaching business. Though it is specific to this area of business, it has principles that can apply across the board to small business owners of all types. I highly recommend. Also, the Audible gives you additional content not found in the book!

A slightly skewed view of human history, with a riveting imagination regarding its future.
Revisado: 05-13-24
First, let me say that I find Hurari to be a fascinating thinker. I appreciate the immense amount of thought and work he put into this book. His writing style is easy to listen to and presents his ideas with clarity.
To be fair, I hold a substantially different worldview than that put forth by Hurari in Homo Deus. At times he comes across as smug and demeaning toward anyone who does not share a materialistic worldview. His subjective narrative of human history serves to build an argument that might convince the modern naturalist. It is not convincing to me. However, it is thought provoking.
This is the kind of book that creates content for lively discussion with friends and colleagues. For what it is worth, I found it enjoyable.

Worth reading to familiarize yourself with 4 views of Origin of Life
Revisado: 01-11-24
I appreciated this format a lot. It quickly gives a reader, a synopsis of four basic views on the origin of life discussion from a Christian perspective. As we all bring our own presuppositions to this conversation, I’m not sure that one will be persuaded by anyone argument. Without additional research, you may be left in the same place as you were when you started this book. It’s does make it easy to see how scientists or theologians can use empirical data to reach different conclusions. This does not help in our endeavor to discover the Truth.
I appreciated the arguments each author presented. I do agree with the closing remarks, that all of these authors have too much to lose to ever change their positions on this discussion. But surely this book does help give you a foundation of these different positions. Enjoy it for what it is.

Mind blowing interpretation and scholarship!
Revisado: 12-12-23
This book violates many of our preconceived theological positions on the Supernatural world. It is perhaps one of the most fascinating and helpful books I’ve ever read on anxiety Hebrew text and culture. It brings the Bible interview in a new way.
Some will struggle with the author’s departure from traditional Western views of these Ancient Scriptures. But I find the scholastic work here to be of the highest level.
Whether you are a student of the Bible or are a pastor or professor, read this and wrestle with its interpretation of Scripture. This book has opened my eyes to see the Scriptures in a new beautiful way

In 2084, scientist and philosopher John Lennox will introduce you to a kaleidoscope of ideas: the key developments in technological enhancement, bioengineering, and, in particular, artificial intelligence. You will discover the current capacity of AI, its advantages and disadvantages, the facts and the fiction, as well as potential future implications.

Such an important book for the 21st Century
Revisado: 11-10-23
Lennox does a masterful job explaining the advancements of AI against the backdrop of an increasingly hostile world to faith. You will learn a great deal about AI and how it is being implemented around the world. As he states, it is a tool that can both make our world better and/or destroy it.
But what I appreciated even more was his thoughtful approach to biblical prophecy. He did not get caught up in all the fantastical claims of eschatological camps. Instead he underlined the important principles underlying biblical prophecies in a way that brings understanding and hope. This is probably my favorite part of the book.
Put this on your list!!
