As a believer for over 40 years... I realized I had forgotten... not that God & Jesus loved me, but how much He missed my not using the gifts He gave me. Not just talents, but powerful spiritual gifts of discernment, power over darkness, prayer language, the companion of His Angels and especially the Holy Spirit's wisdom and comfort.

Raven has reminded us how walking with the Lord in a constant mindful state is far more powerful than the world's tools & many counterfeit ways of life. If you need your faith jump started or have been hungry for a more deeply satisfying relationship with God.... read how Hope Anderson turns her scary broken life around thru the love, forgiveness & power of the Father, Jesus & Holy Spirit ... and God's very real heavenly and human angels.

This is no sappy novel. It is not fantasy. Yes, it is a novel, but the real walk with spiritual eyes wide open & the power that is available for the asking, is very real. With drama, redemption & romance, I highly recommend this book.

The performance by Paula Slade gave props & respect to Raven's story. The characters were beyond just multiple adult and children human voices. Ms Slade fearlessly & consistently captured them all along with the celestial & demonic. She will have you on the edge of your seat. You will laugh, you might cry ... you will feel. Listen to this novel. You'll thank me later.

At first I wondered if I was going to listen to a dark drama like Wuthering Heights. But soon I was invested in the best scenario of drama, mystery & a complicated romance. What I liked about the story was the lack of predictability.

Paula Slade's narration of multiple voices were consistently true for each character. Her transitions were so smooth between narrator & voices that I felt I was listening to a full cast.

The only thing that I'm not sure was needed in the story was the number of thought bubbles before dialogue. it sometimes seemed unnecessary.

The ending was rewarding. All in all, bravo to author, Leigh Michaels and actress, Paula Slade.

What did you love best about Sadie Sapiens?

Helping kids of ALL ages - from 10 to 92... to understand dog behaviors & thinking processes, but this dog's observations of their human counterpart's behaviors, both in amusing and serious instances. Sadie sheds light on so many important aspects on human and canine relationships thru a unique storyline that will capture your heart, mind and spirit. This story addresses important moments of death (both of pets and humans), animal cruelty, humane treatment of pets and the not-so humane, animal shelters & foster caregivers... just to name a few.

What other book might you compare Sadie Sapiens to and why?

I don't know. It is like no other that "I" have read. Others I have read (i.e. Marley & Me and viewed a few dog related movies), but this is not a true or embellished true story nor a doggy-buddy story. It's one of a kind. Very unique.

Have you listened to any of Paula Slade’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have listened to Paula Slade's other performances. All are excellent for each style of book. This book had an immense cast of similar & radically different roles. There were a few voices in each age, sex, human/not human & / or character types, which Paula presented confidently and was consistent on each... moving flawlessly between the dialogue and narrator voices with seamless ease.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Frankly, this story was so packed with emotional highs and even scary scenarios, that I had to take a break (just one). After that.... when I sensed the book was ending -- I remember saying out loud... "No, don't end."

Any additional comments?

I feel that this book is more appropriate for 13 to Adult. I think a 10 year-old is not ready for some of the drama, but, it should be up to each parent to decide.I also have to say, that I feel that Paula Slade is an awesome storyteller. Between the story and her performance, I sense we haven't heard the last of either. Also, I really zeroed in on the reality of having a dog (or cat, for that matter)... that we don't realize that our human relationships in our shared home -- happy, sad, laughing and even having words of discourse ... must affect our four-legged family members. Hmmm.... something to think about.

Where does The Haunted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was my first horror book. I couldn't stop listening. Ranking: 9

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Haunted?

The first was when Sarah realizes the cold feet she is snuggling with in bed, were not of her husband's, but of a ghost.

Have you listened to any of Paula Slade’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I look forward to more. Paula's warm voice and obvious seasoned acting skills hooked me from the get-go till the very end. In particular, her ability to shift voices and sounds - especially in heightened fast-paced dramatic scenes, kept me on the edge of my chair.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Father Mike was coaching the couple to voice their commands in ridding the intruders.

Any additional comments?

I expected some sort of resolve/twist at the end, but didn't see this one coming.

I'm not usually drawn to horror stories, but, Michaelbrent's "The Haunting," story was more powerful due to likable couple and the journey we took with them. Paula Slade's narration seemed perfectly in sync with Mr. Collings' intent.
