Historia
Paul Schumann, a German American living in New York City in 1936, is a mobster hitman known as much for his brilliant tactics as for taking only "righteous" assignments. But then Paul gets caught. And the arresting officer offers him a stark choice: prison or covert government service. Paul is asked to pose as a journalist covering the summer Olympics taking place in Berlin. He's to hunt down and kill Reinhard Ernst - the ruthless architect of Hitler's clandestine rearmament.

WOW I MEAN-WOW
Revisado: 08-12-22
There were times I didn’t want to continue because I was scared of what MIGHT happen next and sure enough all kinds of things happened. It frightens me to read a book like this then hear daily what’s happening in our own country. I heartily recommend reading or listening to this book. I prefer the audio, the narrator brings it to life!

Historia
One advantage of being caught up in a whirl of dress fittings and decisions about flower arrangements is that Charlotte Sloane has little time for any pre-wedding qualms. Her love for Wrexford isn't in question. But will being a wife - and a countess - make it difficult for her to maintain her independence - not to mention, her secret identity as famed satirical artist A. J. Quill? Despite those concerns, there are soon even more urgent matters to attend to during Charlotte and Wrexford's first public outing as an engaged couple.

Revisado: 11-02-21
This author never disappoints and the narrator is exceptional. It helps if one has listened to his previous books when he was a DCI but even as a stand alone it was a great listen. Highly recommended!

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Revisado: 06-06-21
What a remarkable and inspirational story. The narrator could not have been better. The descriptions of the times were as rewarding as the races. Thank you Dan Brown for putting this piece of history in print for all to read and hear.It was well worth the reader's or listener's time.

Best book all year long
Revisado: 03-22-21
I thought this was going to be kind of a dumb book to listen to but it was recommended to me by someone who reads a lot so I gave it a try. I LOVED it. A little of everything. A little excitement, a mild romance, animal rights and human behaviors. The narrator was just right. I’m guessing the audio was way better than reading it!! What a prize—-don’t miss it.

Besides the mystery involved reading or hearing this book makes one realize what life was like in London in those years. The reader was excellent and even though complicated at times it is well worth the 'read'.

Disappointed
Revisado: 09-09-19
Diappointed after reading this long follow-up from the authors first book in this series. I thought he would wrap it up but obviously it didn't end it just set up for the next book. Apparently this is to go on and on. I'll not be looking for the next one as I'm sure it woin't end either. Too bad as narrator is good, story ok but not worth 3 books!!!

Historia
As much as Beatrice Hyde-Clare relished the challenge of figuring out who murdered a fellow guest during a house party in the Lake District, she certainly does not consider herself an amateur investigator. So when a London dandy falls dead at her feet in the entryway of a London Daily Gazette, she feels no compulsion to investigate. It was a newspaper office, after all, and reporters are already on the case as are the authorities.

Historia
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

Remarkably overhyped
Revisado: 01-01-19
The difference between the quality of Absolute Power and this book is incredible. It is like it was written by another author. Ridiculous situations arise over and over. Example: the two women had permission to use an apt of a fellow who left for a six month your in Afganistan, when they snuck into the apt magically the refrigerator was stashed with fresh lettuce for a salad, chicken beer and wine. Then you home the Grand Canyon UP at night carrying an 80 lb load? And the list goes on. The audible was of low quality . Might have been a good story in there somewhere but just not of the quality one expects from this author.
