New Favorite Book Series
Revisado: 12-14-21
I'm a fan of English mysteries; Inspector Banks, Peter Diamond, Masie Dobbs, Lord and Lady He their he to name a few. After listening to the first two books in the series, I am adding this series and cannot wait to get the third. The stories have twist that I don't see coming. Highly recommend.

Takes me back
Revisado: 11-25-21
I’m a child of the ‘50’s and grew up listening to radio dramas with my mother while she ironed and I did homework. This took me back to that kitchen. I love English mysteries and I thought the cast did a good job with this presentation. The music helps build the tension. Having read Holy Island this prequel gave some perspective. Good story

Nothing is what it seems
Revisado: 10-02-20
I love the Ian Rutledge series. I’ve read mysteries for 50+ years, starting with Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden then Mary Stewart, Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney and so on. I always thought I was pretty good at figuring out ‘who done it.’ This series keeps me guessing at all turns. The Confession did not disappoint. On the the next book.

Historia
During a houseboat vacation on the remote Lake of the Woods, a violent gale sweeps through unexpectedly, stranding Cork and his daughter, Jenny, on a devastated island where the wind has ushered in a force far darker and more deadly than any storm. Amid the wreckage, Cork and Jenny discover an old trapper’s cabin where they find the body of a teenage girl. She wasn’t killed by the storm, however; she’d been bound and tortured before she died. And from outside comes the soft wail of an infant, abandoned in the brush....

Family Vacation
Revisado: 07-14-20
A storm like no other. A dead young woman and a baby. Someone hunting the baby. Definitely not a Griswald family vacation. Kruger combines geography, history (both First Peoples and White man), suspense, and humor into to story that is nigh on impossible to put down or pause. Buck Schirner does an excellent reading. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hang on to your hat, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride
Revisado: 11-21-19
Atlee Pine goes back to her Georgia home in search of answers about her missing twin and the hopes of hanging on to her FBI career.
She gets more than she ever imagined. More questions than answers, is every on in Andersonville lying or at least evading telling what they know? Then it looks like a serial killer is on the loose and an old co-worker from DC shows up to assist and the tension ramps up.
Baldacci ‘s writing/story telling is always riveting but this time I think he outdid himself. Twist and turns galore. Just when I thought I had it figured out it goes in another direction.
And the narration. Brittany and Kyf are fantastic. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It was terribly difficult to find a place to stop listening. Sooo I didn’t. My family doesn’t need to eat. 😄

Short, sweet and funny
Revisado: 08-11-19
If you are looking for short listen, reminiscent of the old radio dramas, this is a series for you. Can get the whole story in one sitting. Nathaniel Parker does a great job on the narration. You’d swear it was different people reading the different parts. Stories are not too complicated. It’s a fun listen.

Perfect suspense
Revisado: 07-16-19
Suspense at its best. I listened to the last 6 chapters with my stomach in my throat. Wanting to know what happened next but at the same time almost afraid to find out. Just when I think the books can’t get any better they do. Robert did a wonderful job with the narration. I could have sworn there was a whole cast of actors - not just one.

Revisado: 06-20-19
I’ve read some of the last few Cherringham stories but nothing beats listening to Neil tell the stories. I love that they are short and I can hear the whole story in an afternoon. And that new stories come out every few months. But I hear Neil even when I’m doing the reading.

Sherlock Holmes plus Bob and Ray to provide the comic relief. Some tense moments and twist and turns provide another great story. It’s a great listen, Richard Ferrone is a good narrator.
