this was an enjoyable listen - Sasha performs their own words in an engaging, easy to consume manner. a nice reminder of where we've come from, where we could go and not to take anything too seriously.

more of a cosmere lore book

....than a Mistborn book. interesting to fans for sure, but without a compelling plot for our main Mistborn era 2 characters. Michael Kramer is a stunning narrator as always.

Slow story to literal and figurative Nowhere

I enjoyed the first two books as I've enjoyed pretty much everything Sanderson has written. but for me this one was a miss. slow of pace and anti-climactic, it read as a de-escalation in terms of dramatic tension from the preceding books. it also introduced an entirely new cast and ignores characters the reader has established relationships with. personally I found this book to be a struggle to get through. I was never eager to pick it back up - rather I got to the end to get the story. but that didn't really matter as there's no resolution.

that's not to say you won't enjoy it. and the narrator does a fantastic job. so give it a go but understand that it's probably not what you're hoping it will be after how the story began.

An absolute treat

Whether you've read the comics or not, this experience is a treat. Wonderfully adapted to an audiobook and brilliantly performed and produced. if you're at all curious, buy this book - you will be happy that you did. #creditworthy

fans of the series will enjoy how that major plot lines are resolved in a manner that is satisfying without steeping to fan service. highly recommend.

A laborious read

I enjoyed books 1 and 2 but this book was a bit tedious. So many of the reviews are gushing that I wonder if we all read the same book.

The time travel element serves to remove dramatic tension since characters know when they won't die. some of the more interesting elements of the story previously have been dropped - politics are out the window and a facist regime is cool so long as we like him? - while the book wobbles between descriptions of battles or long bits of exposition that might have been engaging if rolled out as the story progressed rather than in a glut to tie off loose ends.

Michael Kramer provides great narration as usual so even if the story is un-engaging, it's a pleasing listen.

a fantastic follow up to Red Rising
