Love it
Revisado: 09-19-22
I read this book after I read the author’s other book “habits of the household”. Loved both of them. If you debating which one would be better to read, I think I would start with this one since it applies more to our busy lives being single or with a family .He gives some honest and beautiful truth that are easy to apply to life. Really enjoyed this book

Loved it!

I loved this book! So much wisdom. Loved every idea he gives to make habits. I would recommend getting this in hard copy only because you’ll want to highlight so much. I may just get one and read it again. So good!

Is it harder for you to change and grow as a Christian than it should be? Do you wonder what is holding you back? Have you ever considered that it might be idolatry? Using real-life stories and examples, Brad Bigney shows us how the idols we might not even recognize can still have devastating effects in our lives. In this transparent, honest book, he helps us to identify our idols, understand how they lead us to commit treason against the gospel - and finally repent of them and root them out forever by turning to the only One who can fill our every need.

Historia
Beloved author Sally Clarkson ( The Lifegiving Home, Own Your Life, Desperate) believes that meals lovingly served at home - and the time spent gathered together around the table - are a much-needed way to connect more deeply with our families and open our kids' hearts. Food and faith, mingled in everyday life, become the combination for passing on God's love to each person who breaks bread with us.

Good book but…
Revisado: 04-08-22
Really good book, very rich but I wouldn’t listen to it I would physically read it. It has a lot of recipes that you’ll have to go back and write down and it’s very long. I would maybe read a chapter a month or week because it’s a lot of information on one topic. I found myself taking a lot of breaks in between reading it

To a degree both engrossing and alarming, the story of fast food is the story of postwar America. Fast Food Nation is a groundbreaking work of investigation and cultural history that may change the way America thinks about the way it eats.

Disturbing but very interesting!
Revisado: 08-27-21
I really enjoyed this book. First I enjoyed the speaker, he sounded like he works in an amusement park but it kept my attention the entire time. Second I liked that the author talked about our frozen and processed food at home as well as fast food. It wasn’t what I was expecting. A lot of good information to think about. I have read a lot of “pro vegan” books, this is not one at all but was probably the book that will have me eating more plant based or just overall eating at home more. I would definitely read it if your looking for persuasion on a healthier lifestyle or if you have children.

Historia
Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows offers an absorbing look at what social psychologist Melanie Joy calls carnism, the belief system that conditions us to eat certain animals when we would never dream of eating others. Carnism causes extensive animal suffering and global injustice, and it drives us to act against our own interests and the interests of others without fully realizing what we are doing.

For the most part good….
Revisado: 08-15-21
Overall, I enjoyed the book. She has a lot of convincing facts like how the animals feel before and during their slaughtering. Where she lost me? She’s an obvious feminist. I didn’t purchase the book to hear her feminist views. She lost me around the last few chapters when she began making veganism almost a spiritual matter. It was a good book, glad I read it but wouldn’t be able to sit through it again.
