Great story, but the narrator fell short

I loved the whole parallel with Hades and Persephone, my favorite couple in Greek mythology. I’ve also always had a thing for stories where the heroine falls in love with the poster child for the villain.
The narrator, however, could have been better. Her voice was alright and she did well with an English accent, but after 22 years as an avid reader of Regency romance novels, some of her pronunciations made me cringe.

The summary doesn’t do it justice.

As usual, there’s a lot more to the story than the summary will have you believe. I wasn’t very fond of the fact that the heroine had to blackmail the hero, but the author made it work. I also enjoyed the mini shout out to some of my favorite, authors and books!

Another Outstanding Story!

I waited a few months for this book and to read Yasmine and the Earl of Lilford’s story and it was definitely worth the wait!Once again, the author did a great job in helping the reader understand each character—even the antagonist(s). It was also nice to see Cleo as well as the Duchess of Trent once again.

I read this book for a second time after 20 years. However, it pales in comparison to romance novels I’ve read since. The story was OK, but there isn’t as much depth as there could be.

This book had more of what I was looking for. However, the narrator’s performance was awful and hard to listen to. If I wanted to listen to a robot, I would have gotten a Kindle book and had voiceover read it to me.

I got this book expecting to listen to instruction as I work, and while it does provide instruction for each type of stitch, I have read books with the same information that also have the patterns in them, rather than just a website where you can find the pattern. Save your money and look up tutorials on the internet, or find another book. Better ones are out there.
