Not the typical love story

My first intention was to say it is a lovely story, but it is not. It is very tragic and has some nasty characters and situations, But the love story shines even more because of this.

And, don't be misguided, this is not a convenctional love story. It's not the classical boy-meets-girl tell, and there lies the beauty of it. Even when it starts with the end, you can never know what it's going to happen.

Jane Austen never dissapoints

Victorian England is a very interesting place and Jane Austen exhibits its contradictions and nonsens in a very interesting and funny way. Add the amazing Ema Thompson reading and you'll have a winner combinaton.

Necesary reading, but a little self-complacent

Ok, we were in need of a story about a transgender kid and her family. You can see her story as a stroy-line for those who have a transgender son/daughter and struggle to rise him/her in an ignorant unempathic society.

But the story is self-complacent and problems are not that big, so, in the end, not many transgender families can feel reflected nor identified.

Very funny and charming!

With an amazing cast and performance, Billy Crystal told us a very funny story that makes us rething about our priorities in life. They say you should live this day as if was the last day of your life, but, what if it REALLY is the last day of your life? What would you do? How would you spent your last 24 hours in this world?

Billy Crystal humor sometime remined me Woody Allen's because it looks like silly but it's very profound indeed.

Predictable

Ok, this story goes for the christmas season, and that's it. After the first three chapters, you know what is going to happen and how it's going to end. No surprises here.

It's a very lovely story though, very good to be read in christmas season, just as the TV specials shows. Nothing more, nothing less.
