I love this story. It’s a college age romance, will they won’t they, forbidden, hot hot hot story. I mean talk about a slow burn that burns up the page or this case the ears! The narrator does a great job of giving each character their own voice. You could easily separate and visualize the characters who were speaking. Her voice then would take on a more calming tone when it was the inner dialogue of our main character. She didn’t take long pauses helping the story to move along. I love all of Shayna Astor’s story especially this one from the acknowledgement the main character has about her character/integrity, the way our lover boy has to earn her trust, to the realistic hea epilogue. The story has those swoony moments while bits of realism are tucked into it helping you relate to these characters.
