Characters were boring, story was boring. Kept waiting for it to get better. PS a huge plot hole/lack of background, if someone leaves home at 15 & is a sailor, how would they acquire the education & manners of “the ton”??

First time listening & although I enjoyed the story, the overuse of f**k detracted from the episode. I think it was a bit lazy to just repeatedly say f**k, f**k, f**k constantly.... it got to be so redundant. *sigh* it could've been a great listen.

I've read/listened to several other books by LJ Shen and enjoyed them but this one was not good. At all. I don't understand the 5 star reviews -- did I listen to a completely different book ?? Other than his physical appearance, Chase didn't have any appealing qualities. The characters were more like caricatures and not fully developed. There just wasn't any substance. There was nothing humorous or interesting and a lot of things just didn't make any sense, especially the random details. So many inconsistencies -- shouldn't rich people live like actual rich people? For example, why didn't Chase (a billionaire) have a personal limo & driver? There were so many descriptions of them taking the dirty subway or a taxi or an Uber which is so ludicrous. Pages & pages were devoted to Maddie's horrible fashion choices and her out of style pixie haircut and references to Chase's 30 minute bowel movements - ugh. The details of Ronan's medical condition were so unrealistic, if someone has 10% lung capacity, they'd be on a ventilator, not smoking medicinal marijuana. Who cares if Maddie was put in charge of the funeral flowers? (and wouldn't there be personal assistants to handle the minutiae?). The timelines made no sense, the fights and arguments in the office settings were illogical and if I heard the nickname Booger Face one more time I was going to scream. It seemed that in order to fill a certain number of pages, LJS wrote a bunch of meaningless details about things that don't advance the plot but actually should've focused more on the actual plot and developing interesting characters. I could go on and on but I've already given too much of my time to this book. I might actually request a refund, it was that bad.

Couldn't finish. The characters were one dimensional and uninteresting. Lydia was absolutely cringeworthy - weak, impulsive, bird brained & apparently screaming Gideon's name out in the throes of lust 24/7. This was such a waste of my time

Couldn't finish it, so so so bad

Tried really hard to finish but the narrator's cheesy Southern accent was so annoying and the storyline was brain numbingly boring. The plot was the same tired rehash of "crush on friend's big brother" and "crush on roommate". And everyone was everyone else's BEST FRIEND and feeling guilty about lusting after their best frienda. I got so sick of Drew calling Courtney his best friend but Travis was also his BFF. And Courtney's BFF's are Viola & also Drew... it was all so boring & redundant. Ugh.

I wish I could give it 6 stars! It was fast paced and I laughed out loud seversl times. but it was also a tear jerker. Excellent, just excellent
