Historia
As news broke of a killer rampaging across the tiny community of Portapique, Nova Scotia, late on April 18, 2020, details were oddly hard to come by. Who was the killer? Why was he not apprehended? What were police doing? How many were dead? And why was the gunman still on the loose the next morning and killing again? The RCMP was largely silent then, and continued to obscure the actions of denturist Gabriel Wortman after an officer shot and killed him at a gas station during a chance encounter.

I really wanted to like this but it's written like a newspaper article and who wants to9 listen to hundreds of pages of newspaper style writing. it's just painfully one dimensional. You can tell it was written by a journalist and not a novelist, in the worst possible way. It is very plodding, extremely plodding. I kept trying to listen to it, but if I had to listen to the author say, "hashtag" one more time I was going to lose my mind.

Normally, I like - no, make that, love - your podcasts. I am well on my way to listening to every single episode available (not in any particular order). I've given you tons of five stars but this episode (Elizabeth Jewett murder) was a real disappointment. I actually stopped listening part way through because this episode was drowning in your obvious political leanings. I get it, you are opposed to, as you put it, the "criminalization of sex work." I happen to disagree but that is really neither here nor there. We are each entitled to our opinions. but I - along with, I wager, 99.9% of your audience- listen to be entertained not proselytized. Just a little food for thought from a diehard fan.

as with every one of your episodes your storytelling is fabulous and your voice was made for podcast listening. your podcast has become my go-to favorite. my only critique albeit very minor is it's cute to hear the dog bark at the very end of the episode the first two or three times but now that I've probably listen to 50 episodes I find myself racing for the pause button before I hear the bark and I am a DieHard animal lover. everything else I absolutely adore!

Here's a psychological thriller with truly multi-dimensional characters and a roller coaster plot. I can't wait to listen to more of this author's works. My favorite listen so far this year, nearly halfway through 2023, and I have over upwards of 400 books in my library.

hooked from start to finish
Revisado: 06-05-23
As another reviewer said, I was hooked from page one. although I wanted a slightly different ending, I loved this story precisely because it was different. nothing derivative. I'm always a little nervous whenever reviewers say, "If you like (insert famous author's name), you will like this;" or, "(Insert best-selling title) meets (insert another best-selling title)." To me, that's a red flag that I'm in for a shamelessly derivative plot. (I can only imagine how infuriating it is for the author of the original bestseller that spawned a hundred imitations). I like something that's totally different and this was it. Kudos to the author for not being a copycat and taking us all on a brand new adventure!!!
