Historia
An astonishing tip from a grateful ex-convict seems implausible - but Inspector Ian Rutledge is intrigued and brings it to his superior at Scotland Yard. Alan Barrington, who has evaded capture for 10 years, is the suspect in an appalling murder during Black Ascot, the famous 1910 royal horse race honoring the late King Edward VII. His disappearance began a manhunt that consumed Britain for a decade. Now, it appears that Barrington has returned to England, giving the Yard a last chance to retrieve its reputation and see justice done.

When his latest victim’s husband claims that he can’t come up with the money, the word “deadline” takes on a disturbingly literal meaning. The local police are out of their depth, but Colter Shaw takes the lead in the investigation. Soon, he’s using his survivalist instincts to uncover clues and pursue suspects, putting his own life on the line to catch the would-be killer before the countdown hits zero.

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

Relationships Matter
Revisado: 08-16-20
I loved James’s complete honesty about the good and the bad things in his life.
Anyone that is a James Taylor, Beetles, and Peter and Gordon fan should listen to this book. It’s incredible.
I was a James Taylor fan before I listened to the book. I’m a bigger fan now and listening to him tell the story was much more meaningful than just reading the book would have been. Listening to his music will have much more meaning to me now knowing the stories behind the songs.

Historia
1944. Physics professor Alfred Mendel and his family were trying to flee Paris when they were caught and forced onto a train, along with thousands of other Jewish families. At the other end of the long, torturous train ride, Alfred is separated from his family and sent to the men’s camp, where all of his belongings are tossed on a roaring fire. His books, his papers, his life’s work. The Nazis have no idea what they have just destroyed. And without that physical record, Alfred is one of only two people in the world with his particular knowledge. Knowledge that could start a war, or end it.

This story is so good, it hurts
Revisado: 09-29-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I knew the ending, but the journey kept me on an emotional roller coaster. This is a spy novel, and a love story. This story is about the worst of mankind and the best of man.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
His story is like riding Space Mountain at Disney World. You are in the dark about the next the twists and turns, you end up being turned every way but loose.
Have you listened to any of Edoardo Ballerini’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first time I've listened to his work. He reflected a voice change as needed, but kept tone that was easy on the ear.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I wanted to punch Andrew Gross in the mouth. His writings have matured over the years.
This was such a gut wrenching thriller, I will think twice before I start his next book. He wears the reader out emotionally.

This story grabs you early and does not let go until the last word. If you love the life outdoors and an individual pursuit of an honest living, C.J. Box delivers. Characters have situations you could imagine yourself in the same struggles.
The author continues to reveal his love of family and childred in his books.
