Historia
First published in 1816 and generally considered Jane Austen's finest work, Emma is a humorous portrayal of a heroine whose injudicious interferences in the life of a young parlour-boarder in a neighboring village often lead to substantial mortification. Austen brings to life a myriad of engaging characters as she presents a mixture of social classes as she did in Pride and Prejudice.

Austen at her best
Revisado: 12-21-23
This is a book that Jane Austen feared only she would like for the flawed heroine, but it really is one of her finest. The heroine blossoms into a wonderful person whp grows in gratitude and charity. The plot is rich in surprises. Narrator does well in bringing it to life. Highly recommend

Historia
When the self-effacing 10-year-old Fanny Price is sent to live with her wealthy relations at Mansfield Park she seems shy and withdrawn beside her witty and vivacious cousins. Growing up in the Bertram household, she is always treated as an inferior, only finding an ally in her cousin Edmund. But Fanny's steadfast and purposeful character eventually makes her an indispensable part of the household. During the absence of Fanny's uncle, the others become entangled in a maze of flirtation and intrigue upon the arrival of Mary Crawford and her brother Henry.

Better with age
Revisado: 12-20-23
As I get older, I appreciate the genius of this novel more. There is such a variety of character to be found here, that it forwards the plot in an interesting way. Fanny Price is an excellent woman, if you really think about it. The narrator does a wonderful job with changing voices to denote different characters, her Mrs. Norris is amusing!

Historia
One of the most popular and beloved introductions to the concept of faith ever written, Mere Christianity has sold millions of copies worldwide. This audiobook brings together C. S. Lewis' legendary radio broadcasts during the war years, in which he set out simply to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."

Very Good
Revisado: 08-21-23
I enjoyed this book very much and since the book is a conversational one it fits perfectly into being an audio book! The narrator is very fun to listen to and everything comes off that much more understandable because of the way he speaks. I am reading this book for my summer reading and things that are assigned to me tend to be harder for me to get into, and while this one did take me awhile to start I had a great time once I fully committed to listening to it!

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-16-23
I did not expect the crude sexual talk in this book. I would not recommend this to those searching for elevating clean fiction. How we need more Jane Austens.
