I’m always suspicious of Strangers on a Train ripoffs, but this one had some good plot twists. I kept going to see if I guessed correctly. (Not quite.) But the final twist? Not believable at all.

A good story but an unsatisfying resolution

This book was well written and narrated. The story keeps you guessing until the very end. Alas, when the dots are finally connected, I felt that there wasn’t much of a firm basis for the revelation. I don’t know what else to say about it without posting spoilers.

A decent story with minor irritations

This book has a compelling plot line that keeps you guessing as to who the culprit will be out of quite a few possible suspects. Two things that irritated me: (1) The author always lets you know precisely what’s going on with a character’s genitalia whether it adds anything to the story or not. For the female characters, all the talk about how their chests look feels very objectifying. (2) You can hear the reader swallow/take a drink at various points, which is like nails on a chalkboard.

Repetitive and predictable
