Since an engaging and faith enriching book that both educates and challenges the reader to consider the complexity of relationship between Judaism and Christianity, while at the same time making it more than just a boring theological discussion. Rosner also a delivers and engaging personal story that draws the reader along into the story. I really loved this book!!

The book tries to oversimplify a complex area of law. The tax law is very complex and to minimize it is a huge mistake.

The book begins in a very flippant manner when describing the tax law but in later chapters the author warns never to do it yourself. The presentation was all right. His voice is high-pitched and squeaky, and the content seems like he’s getting a kickback from Robert Kiyosaki.

“Taxes are easy! They are so easy a fifth grader could do them… Never attempt to do them without without a tax professional.“

I picked up this book after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. I thought that this book would be on par with the earlier piece, it was not. Robert Kiyosaki’s rambling & incoherent structure left me wondering if the audiobook got put on repeat. If you’re looking for conspiracy theories or new age literature pick up the book. Robert Kiyosaki should leave the mystical wonderings to Deepak Chopra.

What made the experience of listening to Hillbilly Elegy the most enjoyable?

The vivid grandmother and grandfather give life to an otherwise slow story.

What does J. D. Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

w/o a southern background to draw from, it would be difficult to fully understand the southern twang.

Any additional comments?

Once the grandparents are removed from the story, the pace slows exponentially.
