I didn't expect much, but I got a lot out of it. I'm glad she's authentic—I feel I can relate to her, and I'm impressed that Hollywood hasn't affected her self-esteem - she doesn't have a big head.. She still has therapy and has to work on herself in that area and shows a lot of vulnerability, often expressing her emotions through tears. I admire her even more now. I just followed and will continue listening as new episodes come out. I'm also happy she has John in her life—he seems like a steady, loving source of support for her. Congratulations to Chrissy for this new adventure! Cheers.

Caitlyn should have read it herself

Wish Caitlyn (Bruce) read it herself all the way thru. The narrator didn’t work for me. I do love the story though, just wish we could have heard it from her, would have been so much more powerful, especially those “I am a woman” statements at the end.

The book is decent, and I really wanted to enjoy it. But I was forced to stop in the middle of the book because I physically couldn’t stand the way he was pronouncing Chinese words. Now, I’m Chinese, and although I’m not 100% fluent in the language, I can tell whether something is pronounced right. This wasn't.Take the popular word ‘feng shui’, a Chinese art which is based on the belief that the way you arrange things within a room, can affect aspects of your life, such as how happy and successful you are.  It would be understandable to mess it up if you don’t know the language, that’s okay! But in today's age, any google search would tell you that it’s pronounced “fung shway”. And even if he doesn’t know Chinese, if he’s narrating a book that frequently uses Chinese words, I’d expect him to at least try to pronounce them right. But this guy. This guy is talking about stuff, and then he says it: ‘The Chinese practice of FANG SHWEE.’I sat up straight in my chair. Was I hearing this right? Did he really pronounce this word as ‘fang shwee?’ Sadly, a few seconds later, my suspicions were confirmed as I heard the terrible sound once more.‘FANG SHWEE.’ I cringed as this terrifying man attacked me with the horrible pronunciation of these words. I stayed strong, listening for another 15 minutes, each time hearing him utter the words 'fang shwee, fang shwee, fang shwee.'. But by the time he said ‘the HANG dynasty’, I physically couldn’t stand it anymore. If you’re going to narrate a book that uses Chinese words, at least try to pronounce them right. One google search: that’s how simple it is.I'm returning the book early. I can't even... every time he says "Fang Shwee" I just cringe and lose focus.
