Great feel good audiobook❣️

Davina Porter's narration is so easy to listen to. The voice she gives to each character brings the story to life in your mind's eye.
This is a gentle and clean story that does not get "hot and heavy". But it does make the heart swoon.

Hard to listen to. - Not for me.

It was difficult to listen to. Kind of felt drawn out. I thought it would segue into something more than just a dramatized interview. Maybe watchin the tv show is different. There are just so many people who literally are this self-absorbed,, so it was not enjoyable for me to listen to. I continued listening in the hope there would be additional characters, to no avail.

I agree that "The Winter Sea" is comparable to two novels in one. There is a historical Jacobite story told within a modern day romance that left me smiling at the end of the book. I was hesitant to purchase the audiobook based on some reviews, but I quickly became intrigued with the telling that I found myself binge listening so that I could find out what happens next. So good!
Rosalyn Landor was a terrific performer who gave distinct voices to each character she narrated. The descriptions by author Susanna Kearsley gave me vivid images to accompany Rosalyn's performance. Definitely a book that I'd recommend to those who enjoy Scottish fictional romance.

You can hear every sniff and deep inhale. Lots of random nervous laughter. Copious amounts of vocal fry and "like" you can't have vocal fry without the try hard random valley girl cadence. So "like", cringe. . . eye-roll.

Cameron Buckner is a great storyteller!

I wasn't sure what the podcast was about and continued listening because of Cameron's story telling ability. I find his accent entertaining and will continue listening because of the genuine persona that he gives before and after the stories. Real salt of the Earth vibe.

"Performer" is awful and distorts a great story.

Great Sci-Fi story but the performer is just AWFUL and falls flat.
The "performer" consistently, speaks in an over exaggerated, back of throat, breathy, slow reading for each character. Like listening to an old 80's anime; but with the same sounding voice for over 4 hours!
Such a shame as Mayberry's book is very interesting.

Great Performance

Even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, the performance is very entertaining and well done. I recommend listening to the tales just for the performance value.
