Give this as a gift to everyone you know
Revisado: 12-10-22
A succinct and compelling presentation of historic, confessional, liturgical Lutheranism. As a convert myself having been raised and serving as a pastor in the same church body as the author, his writings were instrumental in our family’s decision to join the LCMS. Whether or not you are Lutheran, this work will be a partner in your own journey.

Great presentation of a selective history

A relatively fair history. It is definitely from a Roman perspective.
Revisado: 11-12-22
Overall, the presentation was fair and accurate. At times, it seemed a little polemical, seeking to vindicate the Roman Church’s history. Almost a “yes, we screwed that up, but we’ve fixed that now, so you should come back.” That’s a great conversation and I’m good with that, especially as a Lutheran clergyman, but I was expecting a more observational presentation. It was still very, very well done. History is a difficult discipline. We use it to understand our present and project our future. Sometimes, we just can’t go back nor can we ignore our past. Still, anyone who is interested in the history of the whole church needs to listen to this presentation of the Roman Church.

Excellent performance…good story
Revisado: 05-01-21
The narrator made the story better than it probably was, however, this is a good series with plausible yarns that help you escape to, well, a world not unlike the real world. The difference in Lawson’s world is the good guy wins in the end. Not so much in the real world.

Tightly weaved story
Revisado: 04-15-21
This was my escape each day from a boring life to one of intrigue. The character development was enhanced greatly by the narrator. Barrett is the best narrator I have ever heard and, frankly, I search books he has read before I see who is the author or the subject.
