Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Complicated love
Revisado: 03-11-23
I truly loved this book through and through. She describes the complicated love that she has with her mother so well.

Great information and telling. It helped me to understand why the foster system was the way it was in Clark county, Nevada 1982-84.

Historia
Too many of us feel trapped by work that doesn't allow us to live our purpose, feed our passions, or use our gifts. We fantasize about starting our own business, but we're told this will mean going deeply into debt, spending years working 80 hours a week, and coping with the relentless pressure to grow. Eco-Bags founder Sharon Rowe says there's another way: go tiny. She is here to show you how. Tiny isn't a size - it's a state of mind. Like a tiny house, a tiny business is built on maintaining a laser focus on what is absolutely essential to you.

Good story
Revisado: 10-15-19
I enjoyed the story of her business from start-up to first million gross and mistakes along the way.
Production quality isn’t the greatest.

Historia
Can man live on fast food alone? Morgan Spurlock tried to do just that. For 30 days, he ate nothing but three "squares" a day from McDonald's as part of an investigation into the effects of fast food on American health. The resulting documentary won him resounding applause and a worldwide release that broke box-office records. Audiences were captivated by Spurlock's experiment, during which he gained 25 pounds, his blood pressure skyrocketed, and his libido all but disappeared.

Enjoyable and Interesting Listen!

I very much enjoyed listening to Spurlock's narration! Although it had some additional information than from his movie (Super Size Me, most of it was a recap. Still very much worth the listen though.

Historia
Julia Sweeney says she was a "happy Catholic girl" when, one day, she walked into church and signed up for a Bible-study course. "What an eye opener that was!" she says. Equally comedic and insightful, Letting Go of God is Sweeney's brilliant one-woman show about her struggle with her faith.

Boring!!!
Revisado: 04-08-10
I haven't read or heard a book I didn't like...Until now. I worked very hard to finish it, but I just couldn't stand it anymore. It is read in the most horrible dead-pan style. Information is often repeated over and over again in many of the chapters. I was looking for more information on Life coaching, but mostly just got why therapy isn't usually a good idea for most people drummed over and over again.
