Historia
Louise Erdrich's latest novel, The Sentence, asks what we owe to the living, the dead, to the reader and to the book. A small independent bookstore in Minneapolis is haunted from November 2019 to November 2020 by the store's most annoying customer. Flora dies on All Souls' Day, but she simply won't leave the store. Tookie, who has landed a job selling books after years of incarceration that she survived by reading "with murderous attention", must solve the mystery of this haunting.

What was it?
Revisado: 09-26-22
Even though the author was the narrator, which is usually a good thing,I couldn’t shake the feeling that the entire time she never stepped out of her ghost-story voice…that is the voice one would use while sitting around a campfire.Hushed,on edge and fearful of the unknown.Maybe that was her intent? After all ,it WAS a ghost story.Never the less,it took away from the rest of the story( to my ears, anyway).

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Revisado: 04-21-22
This book takes one through territory that many of us will recognize, the land of regret. An enchanting tale reminding the reader of what we often feel but can’t quite put our finger on.Carry Mulligan is superb as a narrator.Absolutely a pleasure from start to finish.

Now, she continues this generation-defining conversation in a brand-new format, interviewing millennials around the country about their own deeply personal experiences with burnout, and the culture that creates it.

Is it just me?
Revisado: 02-09-21
Like others have said, this was a podcast..and of about the same quality as most podcasts. The author and narrator had the vocal fry that ,in addition to the burnout of her generation, seems a hallmark of millennials.I couldn’t get through it .The exquisite attention the author and “Kate” managed to focus solely on themselves finds me not at all surprised at their burn-out..or whatever the result of leading a self-focused life results in.Granted, when we are young focusing on one’s self is understandably the time in life when we are permitted that luxury, but upon hearing the “ hardships” endured by both one can’t help but wonder if caring for a dying parent,child,etc.etc. might have given/ freed them from the obsession with the self they both suffered from.At 70 I have to snigger at even the phrase” self- care”.

I am sorry. Is it me or is this THE boring-est narrative I have ever come across?I just can’t face another walk with this droning in the background.I tried.Really I did.Better to listen to my own thoughts than these un- connected ramblings.

She is a THERAPIST?
Revisado: 06-29-20
The writing is clever,no doubt. But it becomes clear early on that this woman should have started and stayed in Hollywood. The allure is just foo great for her to have resisted.By the time she gets around to procuring some sperm her glib,shallow,self- centered world view is confirmed.True, she is an amusing writer.Just make sure you tune into one of her sit-coms and avoid her therapy office.
