Decent enough story but something about using DND spell so exactly felt... lazy?

Cast was phenomenal. Soundbooth kept me in the story and brought just enough audio effects to make the story move without detracting or distractioning.
Character where fine generally. Phin fang was the cute sorta annoying, Alex was dutiful but the bone daddy papa is only endearing for so long then it's trite, Harold is less self aware then feels right.

The only thing that really bogged this outside of the lazy 5e spells was the "word play" good puns should never be explained, just inflected and chuckled at. the moment they are pointed out they are bad puns... Wich happens every page in this book. worst puns are puns that aren't puns but they act like they are puns.

There's Apathy and there's forced plot.

Aside from zero proof,alpha, or beta readers; You have to ask at what point does apathy go from unwilling negligence to evil. That point is right around the lich king part. like it's not even entertaining at this point. It's like someone saw One Punch missed the point and copied the body without the soul.

Spectacular concept, started strong, then... died.

There is so much I could say. It got to the point where EVERYTIME I though, OH cool! I had to temper it with knowing that it was going to be forgotten or downplayed or something. Prime Example/ Spoilers: Super genius AI with a biologically enhanced 'body' (get ready to hate that word), Gets pwnt by forced narrative. (seriously its like playing a game and having your character forget they're a powerhouse because cutscene needs to cutscene). Neat magic/ rune system? Only make sense if you dont think about it. Magic powered Guns in fantasy? I loved Gate, The concept of magi-tech is awesome... but at least you tube how guns work and ya know... See prior statement about Magic/runes. IT hurt seeing how cool everything kept starting only to just kinda, BLEH a minute later.

Good story made better with Jeff hays

solid story alright pacing, MC is mildly OP but that's because he's experienced and plans ahead. Jeff hays always delivers a little extra in his narration.

This is getting really cringe. MC is doing the stupid with no real reason. The dialog is like listening to teens with no social skills trying to put coolguy each other. The system seems to only be consistent when it doesn't interrupt the plot. last I'm a not going to continue a series where characters like the twins or ghost are normal characters.

No, this book that's all the side parts of wizards, the dull parts, and distills it into pure tedium. Soundbooths talents were wasted here. like watching a rated R movie that has been edited for TV on Fox
